The 29th Annual Spring Fling It[/b] [b]April 14th, 2012 2 rounds of golf at Veterans Memorial Park and McFarland Park[/b] [b]Florence, Alabama A Southern Nationals Qualifier Event Tournament director:[/b] James Burton [b]Entry fees:[/b] Pro Open: $47 All other Pro Divisions: $42 All Advanced Divisions: $37 All Intermediate Divisions: $32 Novice and Juniors: $20 There will be a $2 Southern Nationals fee taken from each entry, with the exception of Novice. The costs of plaques will be deducted from each division. There will also be an optional ace pot offered for $2. [b]Tournament schedule:[/b] Signups will be at the pavilion at Veterans Park from 8:00am - 9:00 am. Players meeting will begin at 9:30 am. First round tee off is at 10:00 am but could change due to more than one pool. Second round approximately one hour after last card is in from first round. Awards ceremony and any other events such as ace pot throw offs, ring of fire, etc. will take place at Veterans Park following the second round. Order of play will depend on the number of entries and whether there will be two pools. Hole sponsorships are $20 per hole, with 36 available, and will be greatly appreciated. Oh and just for future reference about discs sticking in the sides of the basket.

Summary of Rules Changes

Definitions of the basket and its components have been added to the Glossary so that we no longer have to use the phrase "entrapment section".

The definition of holing out has been tightened up a bit. A putt that sticks in the side of the tray, or hangs outside the tray from one of the nubs, no longer counts.

The hole has been completed once the disc has come to rest, not when the disc is removed.

Not sure who won the other divisions.
Don't remember who it was, but there was an ace at McFarland Park, but the player was NOT in the ace pot.
I believe there were 76 players, which would be six more than last year's one-day event.
The weather was great and the courses were immaculate. Veterans had six new temporary holes.
Great work by James Burton, Jack White, Beth Corey and everyone else who helped out. I had to work :-(
