John K. or someone, could I get this added to the SN schedule please? This will be a fundraiser tournament. All divisions will be paid out in prizes. There will be at least one basket given away. The payout will be 100% of entry fees (minus the $2 per person SN fee). The entry fee will be $15 for Novice, $17 for Juniors, and $22 for all other divisions. All divisions with a minimum of 3 people will be offered. Some divisions will be offered regardless of the number of people. The tournament is tentatively scheduled to be held at Greenwood Park although I will reserve the right to change it to Highland Road Park for the time being. I will post more details as I iron them out later. We are also looking for donations for the tournament. Discs, cash, merchandise, and anything else of value will be gladly welcomed. $15, or the equivalent of in retail value for non-monetary items including discs, will get you a mention at the player's meeting and an advertising placement at a tee. I would also like to thanks Brooks Newell and Jim Blansett for their great donations to the tournament in the last couple of days. Also, Yogi from New Orleans was not able to play in the tournament but still drove all the way to Baton Rouge just so he could hand me a stack of about 20 discs. That was really awesome. We had 200+ bottles of water courtesy of Mockler Beverage Budweiser as well.

The competition was great too. Logan Weiss survived a second round charge by Josh Patin, who shot a very impressive -2 from the gold tees, by sinking a long putt out of the ditch on hole 18 to earn a 1 stroke victory in Open. Kevin Weiss continued his hot play by taking Pro Masters. Robbie Roger shot a hot first round and hung on to win Advanced by 1 stroke over Clifton Byrd and Brady Reaux. 12 year old Thunder Schultz won Intermediate in just his 3rd tournament in the division, besting a field of 17 players by shooting a -10 for the day. His sister Esther Schultz, who is only 11, topped a field of 5 in Am Women in just her 3rd tournament period. They are both players to watch out for in the coming years. The dad, Dylan, also cashed in Intermediate and younger brothers Silas and Simeon got 2nd and 3rd in Juniors.

The payout was over 100% of entry fees and with CTPs, Ring of Fires, the basket throw-off, and the food, total value for the tournament for the day was WELL over 100%. The LSU Disc Golf Club brought in right at $1,400 after all was said and done. This, totaled with some money we received from the university last week, should easily allow us to cover our expenses for tournaments and uniforms for this semester and set up an account with some money in it moving forward. I will be setting up some pro tees for the 2nd round Saturday for open, pro masters, and advanced (grandmasters and pro women can play whatever they like).
