We (the ADGA, hosts of the 2013 SNDC in Lafayette) are giving away free entry fees to next year's tournament to different divisions at different doubles tournaments throughout this season. There is an entire thread on the General Discussion board that lists which tournament is being played for which division.

We are sponsoring these entry fees, meaning they will be paid in to the tournament (the 2013 SNDC) just like the players had paid their own entry fees meaning they will have no impact on payout. We decided to do this to reward players for playing doubles tournaments and hopefully encourage a club or two that does not currently run a doubles event to do so.

In addition to winning their entry fees, the players will also receive players packs just like everybody else. Our goal is to provide player's packs of a value no less than 100% of entry fees. Keith's example about this year's SNDC is a good explanation. If a team wins their entry fee in this rewards program, they win a free disc golf tournament plus they get their player's packs without any money at all coming out of their pocket.

A value of approximately $200 for a team who wins this is very realistic.

I want everybody to understand, this is something extra we are rewarding players who win these tournaments throughout the season with. This is on top of whatever payout they receive for the tournament they won their free entry at. The TDs of the doubles events are not counting this as payout for their tournaments and the payout at the SNDC in 2013 will not be affected at all by this.

I think he's including the value of the players pack in that $200. Bernie you and i get along and your partner for this tournament (Rivers) is hands down one of my favorites to play a round with because of the calmness he brings to any round of golf. Bernie you are a leader in the disc golf community you are in as well as the one that is growing around you and sometimes that means you have to bite your tongue and take it easy. This is something that I am still learning being the president of the DSDGA (Diamond State Disc Golf Association) and man is it hard to do sometimes. Now i have played in the open division for sometime now (sometimes succesful and sometimes not) but i have to say that it totally shocks me to see how some people handle situations. It totally blindsighted me when i pulled up in the parking lot after shooting a not so good round to see you walking up to every open player that was around complaining about the payout......which is why i drove off when you started in with me about it. Handle it behind closed doors please.....no need to call anyone out for a mistake they made.....just give them the opportunity to fix it the best way they can.

Veterans to the game like you and I need to realize the example we have to set for everyone else. After all when all the old school guys are gone its going to be guys like you and i that have to step up and take the bull by the horns (sorry im a late bloomer). How we handle these issues when they occur could define how others handle it when it happens (and it will happen again.....because it always does .....because nobody is perfect).

Robby, i have no conmplaints about the tournament i had a blast and thank you very much for the hospitality you and all of Tupelo showed me and the guys from Little Rock. Please continue to help the sport grow. I know i will and i know Bernie will too.
