This was my first tournament. Really enjoyed it, even though it consumed the entire day. Not complaining - I just had no idea it would take that long. Thanks to all that put in the work to get it done.

I want to remind everyone that the Memphis Snake Doctors Blues Band will be playing on the club house porch from 8:00 pm until 11:00 pm. Even if you are staying in one of the park cabins or a hotel plan on attending the players party and we will treat you to a rockin mixture of blues standards and original music. Band members are Tom Stafford (Guitar), Steve Bishop (Bass), Greg Taylor (Drums) and yours truly blowing the harp.

Columbus Summer Sizzler

The Columbus Summer Sizzler will be held June 15th and 16th. It will be held at Lake Lowndes and Propst Park. This tournament will be part of the Mississippi Tour and $3.00 of the entry will go to support the Mississippi State Tournament held later this year in Jackson Ms. It will also be a great opportunity to get course practice for open players for the SNPC. Come try your arm on some of the nicest courses in Mississippi.

All open divisions $50.00
All adv. divisions $40.00
intermediate div. $30.00
novice and jr. $25.00

players meeting 9:30
tee off 10:00

format
first round and sign ups will be held at Lake Lowndes. Int and under will play the shorts at the Lake and at Propst. Adv up will play the long pads on both courses. At the conclusion of the first round there will be 1:15 minutes before the start of the second round. This should give adequate drive time and lunch time. The second round will be at propst park. At the conclusion of the second round we will pay out novice and jr. divisions. The Int. and up divisions will return Sunday for a final round at lake Lowndes Gold tee time 9:00.

Went and played the course this weekend. it's in really good shape. Several locals out playing the course. The front 9 holes have a new layout that is Shorter than the old original front 9 layout but is way more technical than the original.

Thanks to everyone that came out and made this inaugural event a HUGE success! Tyler and the folks at Dynamic Discs really put on a great event here at our little course at Ferry park in Fort Walton Beach and all the feedback I've heard about the tournament has been positive!

Sorry but I can not remember who won Intermediate Men or Novice. I had an awesome time and played with a great bunch of guys in Advanced Master. Just wish I would have played a little better because I sure wanted one of those sweet Ginger Tannock trophies. The payout was also really good. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a blast. Skills Competition

Mr. Keith Bodin will be organizing the skills contests to be held at the picnic area at the hotel during the player's party. Thanks to his hard work and generosity there will be over $1,000 of cold hard cash up for grabs in putting and accuracy. The upshot portion will come first and takes place on 1-1/2 acres of a beautifully manicured and landscaped area next to the hotel. The putting will follow on the tennis courts which are lit up in case we run out of daylight. I'm sure Keith will want to provide a few more details.

The skill competition will consist of the following:

The contest will take place Saturday night of the player's party. Putting will take place on the tennis courts at the Holiday Inn (host hotel), and accuracy will take place on the lavish grounds of the Holiday Inn (host hotel).

The combined score of putting and accuracy will determine the winner of each division. (example: 2 teams in a division...... team "A" has a combine score of 50 and team "B" has a combine score of 51, the winner is team B.)

You will only compete against players in your division.

Awards:
Each winning team will receive (2) one of a kind/hand crafted cypress mini.
