Greetings disc golfers. The 2nd Annual New Orleans Disc Golf Classic will be held at the scenic City Park course in New Orleans on Saturday December 17. Two rounds, with a 9 AM tee-off due to short daylight and a large field. All divisions except Novice & Am Ladies will play the pro (silver) tees the second round, and the regular tees the first round. Entry fees are: Open $42 Pro Masters $42 Grandmasters $42 Pro Ladies $32 Advanced Am $25 Advanced Masters $25 Intermediate Am $25 Am Ladies $25 Novice $25 Just like last year, all am players (that includes the Novice division) get a premium plastic disc (champion/star/z/esp) just for signing up. Just like last year, we'll have baskets for the winners of the Advanced and Intermediate divisions---the Advanced winner's basket will be higher quality since it's stronger competition of course. Plaques will be awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in all am divisions and 1st place in all pro divisions. Please note that the 1st round will tee off at 9:00 AM! Sign up early (by 12/16) to get a free lunch including jambalaya, chicken, Quality P cobbler and more! Hole sponsorships are available---$30 will get you or your company's name on a tee sponsor sign. I was surprised by the scores on 14, at 217 feet playing as difficult as the 432 foot Hole 16. Remember ratings are determined by the ratings of all the players and how they shoot in relation to one another. Even though I flailed ALL the way through the 1st round and could not stomache a second, lol....It was an awesome day and my little pumpkin hung right in there spanking the Womens divison...Way to go Ronda for 1st and Syd for 3rd.... As shown by the ratings, there was some great golf played by the Advanced division especially in the second round. The past two tournaments I've directed out there really had some battles in the Advanced field, and the sudden-death playoff Saturday was fun to watch on Pro Tee #1.
