Wall Doxey Work Day Saturday Aug. 25th

Wall Doxey has two nice 20 hole courses. The problem is that there is no club to keep the courses maintained and they have become overgrown. I need some help in preparing the courses for the 2012 Rumble in the Jungle on Sept. 22nd and 23rd. If a dozen or more folks would show up with weed eaters, bow saws, loppers and other maintenance equipment we could have the venues ready in one day of work. If you tell the person at the gate that you have come to work on the disc golf course the park with waive the access fee. I'll be in campsite 28 when not on the courses. Just pick a hole and do what needs to be done.

Who will help work on the courses Saturday Aug. 25th?

Saturday Aug. 18th Byron Wood and I spent the day working at Wall Doxey. We made it completely through Turkey Hollow doing what we could with a pole pruner, machete, bow saw and loppers. By the afternoon we were pretty much worn out so we simply walked the front course and made notes on what needed to be done.

But this Forum won't let me cut and paste my notes so I will have to type them again.

I played yesterday and was only able to play the jungle. Several trees down. Going to need a chainsaw for 1 for sure. Hole 7 and 18 probably needs to move back to shorter positions due to thickness of fairway.

That being said. I am scheduled to work right now but if I am not working I will be there to help!
