I'm glad you pointed that out, Wade. We voted on this outside of the meeting, so it didn't get put in minutes. That's definitely something we need to correct.

So why is tony charging the event 600.00 for a 200.00 trophy.....I saw the pic of it and know it is NOT a 800.00 trophy!!!! Good intention BOD, but there is some questions.....by your sponsorship this has brought the entire series into the cup and accounting must be made public!

I don't see anything here that the Cup did "in return" for the sponsorship. I'm not saying the Series should have gotten something "in return" or that the sponsorship was not appropriate. However, as much as I hate to say it, you do owe Dillon an apology for calling him out on it when there is no way he could have known the Cup was made a SNQ because you did it by an unpublished decision in a secret meeting.

Keith,

The only thing you KNOW is how to jump to conclusions and ASSume things you know nothing about, making yourself look like a you know what.

Last time I checked you were not on the BOD, you didn't sponsor the tourney and you def were not at the event, so why are you worried about it??? I need not explain myself to you. Go stick your nose somewhere it belongs.

People had fun at this event so why you trying to ruin it? HATER......

Kieth was a big part of the event the last 2 years with all his sponsorship's, I think he is allowed to worry about an event he was a big part of lasting this long.

Wait you want him to apologies for a comment that Dillion was completely wrong about and then smarted off at the same time.

What I don't understand is why was this SN cup able to be sanctioned when none of the others were, and why were the fees waived when not even fundraisers have that privilege? Also if am/advanced were paid cash and it was sanctioned wouldn't that make it mandatory for them to play in the open division now?
Re: 2012 SN CUP Official Thread - 14, 15 April 2012
April 18, 2012 08:25PM
We waved the fees as to add to the sponsored money so $200 + $132 ($12 per team x 11 teams). As up am's being paid cash, that is not an issue as it is a team event, not a singles event.
Re: 2012 SN CUP Official Thread - 14, 15 April 2012

Charity fundraisers are able to have fees waived.

The decision to sanction the SN Cup was to help it be more part of our series. In the past, it was just added on the schedule and the series itself was hands-off. It was all handled by Allan, his volunteers, and the cities sending teams. This year, we sent a $200 sponsorship to help with the trophy and also waived the SN fees to help out with the money for the event.

The amateur players maintain their amateur status per our vote through the sanctioning. It was one of the requirements we had to list involving the sanctioning.

This is what was presented to the board:
1. It be placed on the Sn schedule
2. Have the 150 mile bubble around it that is afforded singles tournaments
3. Waive the sn fees (it could be part of our sponsorship of the event)
4. Waive the ams can't accept cash rule in regards to this tournament (not one individual is getting a payout rather a team is)
5. Each person is awarded 2 sn points for participating
6. Each players divisional eliglibility is based on the division they are qualified to play in for a normal sn tournament (they may move up not
down)

You are correct Mr. Bass..., but as a SN Player and SN sponsor(Tee shirt sponsor that benefits all 3 championships) I have the right to ask the question. That question is:

How much did the trophy/trophies cost?

Please provide a receipt for all trophy related expanses.

If 3 vendors were not contacted for bids, Why not?

If 3 vendors were contacted for bid, what were the bids?

Mr. Bass,
Thank you for all the efforts you put into this event!!! I am not questioning your management skills. I am just asking for a simple accounting of all SN dollars for this event.

Thank you again for everything you did to accomplish a such great undertaking!!! Your efforts are truly appreciated.

But the part of the event that was sanctioned was a single event.

That is a misunderstanding The Whole event is sanctioned and only 2 point are awarded for each player (as of now), It shouldn't have been written where points are on the line in singles play. Or at least that is the way I understood it from the start.

Ok. So if someone runs a doubles event the they can payout cash to all divisions? And am/advanced can maintain their status for singles events?

Thanks Solomon. It looks like the event TD proved his worth by getting the sponsorship and making that announcement.

I thought the BODs slip in not publishing the decision was acknowledged. No big deal. If ever there was an atypical event worthy of 2 SNQ points this is it.

If it is approved by the Bod like this event was, then yes you could have one held that way. However its unlikely that any board will allow any event other then one like this to give cash to Am level.

It seems to me that by allowing this event to do it then any other team event should be able to do it. what makes this particular event so special? how can the bod discriminate other events? By allowing it here you (the bod) have opened the door for all team events to have the option for this.

Ransom, the difference in the doubles tournaments is that the players on each team are part of the same division. So points and cashing would be awarded regularly.

However, with the Cup and Mobile Mixer, the players on each team come from different divisions. You can't award more than 2 points to the participants because that participant's final score is skewed due to being calculated with scores from his/her teammates. The Mixer participants can't receive more than 2 points per player for the same reason. When Snap carries MattyO at the 'bogue, it would be as if she was earning points FOR him. So we issue 2 points across the field instead.

What is the significance of the number of points one has. The first year of S N there was extra money and prizes for points leaders. Personally I am more interested in where the money goes. Judging from the Cup T-shirts there seem to be maybe $1000 or more in sponsorship money, $3300 in entrance fees and $1950 paid out to teams.

Tony, where's all the left over cash? You ran a quality event from what I heard. No one says you can't profit off of it and it's clearer than ever so why not save some face value and just tell us how much?
Re: 2012 SN CUP Official Thread - 14, 15 April 2012

I wasn't the TD here, I also was not in attendance, I don't know how much was raised from sponsorships or donation, but I can tell you if you add up the payouts from the list on page 8 you will find that $4876 was paid out to the participants. With $3600 from entry fees and $400 from team sponsorships and $700 from other sponsors (assuming they all put up a $50 sponsorship) you have a total of $4700 so I don't see how you all are getting the math you are getting. Also putting the $600 trophy in the mix then Tony was in the red on this.
