Anyone know anything about the Laquinta in Gretna? Good or bad? How close is it to the French Quarter?

Not all that close. A cab ride, not a walk. No idea on the quality of the hotel.

I am driving down, so I will have a car. Couple of miles away? Finally, how far is city park from there(Gretna)?

French quarter - probably wanna give yourself 15-20 minutes. City park - probably wanna give yourself 20-30 minutes.

You would fit in perfectly in Gretna drama Wayne, that is certain. They like drama on that side of the river.

Don't be a dummy, book the one the Parker recommends. Stumbling distance to Lafreniere and 15 minutes from the Quarter.

I was asking because my girlfriend and I are thinking about coming down Thursday, so we can spend some time in the Quarter. We had rather be closer to the Quarter. Thanks for the 411.
