It's back! The Arkansas State Doubles Championships is back from a 4 year absence! We are gearing up to have a new layout this year. You will play the Burns Park Blue Course in a 666 Format, have lunch, and play the second round at Reservoir Park in Little Rock for a Best Shot round. Grab your partner and make arrangements to play this event!

Doug, I just wanted to make sure that you knew this event is eligible for the free paid entry fee rewards deal that we are doing for the 2013 SNDC in Lafayette.

The divisions left "on the table" are

JUNIORS, AM WOMEN, PRO MASTERS WOMEN, GRANDMASTERS & SR. GRANDMASTERS

If you wish, select one of these divisions for your event and the winners will receive free paid entry into next years SNDC including their players packs.

Will NEVER play That format again; I try to play for fun... NOT Evil!!! I'll go to Tish, more fun to be had There!

LOL the 666 format is better this year. Instead of worst shot we are playing Best Shot holes 1-6, Alternate Shot 7-12, and Best Score holes 13-18 (meaning if YOU make a 3 on a hole and YOUR partner makes a TWO, then your best score is TWO)
This format is way better and more fun! I am against the Worst shot format as well very frustrating!

Sorry for the delayed reply, Doug. Been very rough at work lately.

The divisions are

JUNIORS - boys and girls together, we haven't ever had a separate division for them.
AM WOMEN
PRO MASTERS WOMEN
PRO GRANDMASTERS - the usual grandmasters division
PRO SENIOR GRANDMASTERS - the usual senior grandmasters division

I have never had a request for a GRANDMASTERS WOMEN or SENIOR GRANDMASTERS WOMEN division to be offered at any tournaments. We will of course offer them if there is a demand, but based on historical attendance, they were not included in this free entry fee rewards program.

Thanks a bunch!
Well your hearing it now...........I choose the Pro Grandmaster Men Division to give away a free entry into the 2013 SNDC. It will most likely have the largest group of players attending from the above listed.

Good Luck

I will be having a Fundraiser during this event for a Non Profit 501(c)(3) organization. This organization is called
Cass's Canine Rescue
20617 Vista Circle
Mountainburg, AR 72934 US

Cass's Rescue is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer Arkansas No-Kill Shelter and Rescue. All of our beautiful dogs were abandoned, relinquished or found as very small babies and bottle fed. We supply them with shelter and medical care. Some are spay/neutered (additional $45.00) and rabies vaccinated (additional $10.00). Then we look for loving responsible homes where they can live out their lives as family members.

This organization is owned and managed by a sweet lady who has touched me in a way that I could never imagine. My wife and I had a difficult time finding a puppy for my son's 5th birthday this year until we called this organization up. We wanted to rescue a puppy and drove 2.5hrs away to find it. Once we got there, we saw Mrs. Cassie and her barn of puppies in their individual cages. The place looked like it needed major help and very low on income. These puppies were taken care of as best as possible, but I had the upmost respect for this lady to give her life in helping these dogs.
We (My wife and I) were denied from a company in North Central Arkansas to adopt a puppy who sent the one particular puppy we requested to New Hampshire. We called them in New Hampshire asking if we could have the papers on it and adopt. We were going to give $95.00 to do this, but was denied because "You people in Arkansas don't know how to take care of dogs" Of course this makes no sense to me since the person didn't even know who we were. I later found out that she would come to Arkansas, pick up dogs here, and sell them for $450.00 in New Hamshire. When I confronted her about it, she began to tell me that if I continue to ask about the puppy she would sue me for harassment!

Now we own a new puppy, our son loves him and he is the smartest puppy I've ever had. Boxer/Lab mix. I've taken him to the Disc Golf course twice now and he already sits and stays when I throw on command. He is only 4 months old at this point.

Here is my goal: raise money for Cassie's Dog Rescue Center, present it as a surprise with a HUGE Check, Film the event and Youtube it. I am asking for two types of donations. #1 DogFood and #2 Purchase Raffle Tickets for the prize I put together for a throw-off at the end of the event.

Update on the Arkansas State Doubles Championships:

Just received a phone call from the Little Rock Parks and Rec. they have double booked the park for Boys Scouts of America Friday and Saturday all day!!!!!!!! Which means we will not be playing doubles there.

However, this means we will play our 2nd round on the Red Course which will be just as fun.

Had a great time yesterday at the Arkansas State Doubles Championship. My partner and I finished the day with a 1st place finish. On the 666 format (best shot, alternate shot, best score) we shot a -7 on the Blue Course and a -15 under on round 2 for the win. I believe we won the Men Pro Open by 10 strokes!
Everyone had a great time this year. I am gearing up to make this event something special each year.
Results will be posted ASAP.

The Pro Grandmaster division Won a free entry into the Southern Nationals Doubles Championship 2013! Those players names are:
John Linton and Dickey Maxwell!! Great job you two.
