Chuck, good job on Biloxi's first tournament.

A large field for your first event is a real challenge and y'all did just fine. I enjoyed the course and got to play with a few people I haven't seen in a while which is always nice. Thank you Eric, Lynn, Jamie and all of the others that were helping whose names I don't know - especially the guy in the wetsuit who was fishing discs out of the canal.

All of the credit for the post tournament disc retrieval goes to Josh "Kayak Guy" Wenger/Biloxi Disc Golf, one of our sponsors. Be sure to thank him for getting out there early Sunday morning to grab the discs before they were found by others.

The in-round disc retrieval was courtesy of Steve Coulter, owner of Fun In The Sun Pool Service, another one of our sponsors. Fantastic idea and certainly a valuable service during a tournament round.

Absolutely, I hope he was tipped well for retreiving discs. Unfortunately, I live in south Alabama so it may be some time before I can get my disc back. Thankful regardless

So do you have a SSA for the course? Not sure how you calculate, just curious how the difficulty of this course compares to some others.

SSA for the am course would be about 57.6

SSA for the pro course would be about 61.9

remember that the course had 21 holes, correct? So one under on the pro tees is around 1000 rated. About 5 under on the am tees.

yes, there was a 22nd hole, so par was 66 for the course.

fortunately the # of holes doesn't change the SSA. But to shoot about 1000 on the am tees you gotta shoot about 8 down then and 4 down from the pro tees in that case.

I want everyone to know that the Lifetime Achievement Award & Plaque that was presented to Jim Orum was not just from myself, or Gulf Coast Disc Sports, it was from everyone!

The award was from every person that played at the Inaugural Back Bay Battle this past weekend.

I knew you would be there because of the strong foundation Jim established. His hard work & dedication occurred before disc golf was popular. You had to try hard to convince parks that disc golf would be good for them and could expect to be denied often. It was Jim's hard work that made my job easy. I was able to promise the parks & recreation they would see increased park attendance with the installation of a disc golf course. It is the fine group of dedicated disc golfers from the Southern Nationals that have made that promise a reality and this past weekend was a testament to that.

In addition, the award was from:
-all the players of the Southern Nationals, everywhere
-every person that has played disc golf because there was a course nearby that Jim Orum designed
-ever person that started a new course (such as Hiller) or a new disc golf club because they are passionate about disc golf after being introduced to the sport on one of the numerous course Jim built.

Jim, you might not always hear it from people, however, from the applause given to you Saturday night, it was apparent that everyone felt that you deserved recognition. In fact, you deserve far more than any words or plaque could convey.

I was truly honored to be able to present you the award but do not deserve all of the credit.

That award was from everyone.

If anyone retrieve some plastic out of holes 11-12 I donated a few to the lake a "dark side of moon" stamps wraith and a first run day glow green first run APE I truly want back.. Will even give disc of your choice to get back.. Anyone seen them?

11 and 12 are two of the hardest hole to get disc back on, I will keep a look out though.

Eric will you pick up my two disc. Blue ch boss and champion SN sidewinder. I will get it from you and make a small contribution to hiilpark t pads. Thanks bro
