I'll try my best to be there! I love this tournament. Is it going to be trophy only like last year?

No, not trophy only. There will divisional payouts, prizes and t-shirts. Still working on the details at this point. Since both tournaments ( Wesley Smith Memorial & Fling For a Cure) were close together in the past and for the same cause, we decided to combine both tournaments to raise more awareness and money for the cancer society.

One week away. The course is looking nice.
I moved this thread to the SN Tournament forum where it belongs, sorry if this starts world war 3.

Hope y'all get a big turnout for this great cause.

I had moved it to the general discussion page because it isn't a SN sanctioned event. But for a super good cause so yea, we will leave it right where it is...hope everyone can make it out for this event and raise tons of $$$$ I'm sure each and every one of us have loved ones that have battled this horrible disease in one form or the other...I was lucky enough to have had the oppornitunity to meet Wesley.. Was a super guy with a heart of gold..
Why is it on the SN schedule page then hudd?
Why does the SN schedule page say "a Southern National Qualifier" then hudd?
Joey, is this event an SN Qualifier or not?
Robert and others,
Originally it was a SN Qualifier, the TD from Huntsville contacted a SN board member to questioned the distance rule. I thought the mileage between SN Tournaments on the same weekend was 100 miles, it's not, it is 150 miles. The distance between Hamilton and Huntsville is 106 miles. The date was selected by the local folks in Hamilton to coincide with their Relay for Life activities. After I was contacted by a SN Board member and the rule was explained to me, now it is NOT a SN Qualifier and the information was moved to General Discussion page. I do not have a problem with the non sanctioning of this tournament because by rule, I was wrong. Now it has been moved back to the SN Tournament Information page. It does not matter to me one way or another about the sanctioning, the players and SN are the ones that will not benefit from this. I honestly believe that the players that play in my tournament will not travel to Huntsville. No hard feeling toward anyone, rules are rules. Both tournaments can benefit and I hope both will be successful.

Joey
Gosh darnit. I guess you can't believe anything you read on this website anymore. Good thing those BoD members are on top of things like keeping schedule pages up to date. I'd fix the page but then they'll get mad at me for doing what they approved me to do. LoL

Joey thanks again for running a tournament for a good cause, sorry the BoD didn't try and work the sanctioning out for a good cause.

I did take it off the SN events schedule .guess somebody decided to add it back...gosh I'm sorry mr Kernan..I know your so much near perfect that something like that tears you up...
Ok wow I am confused. So should we move this to the General Discussion then? Or did someone say this could be a SNQ after all?

Maybe there's an invisible program running on this website that makes random changes to the schedule LOL

Anyway, I really do hope this event does well, whether it's sanctioned or not. And at least you're getting some free advertising in the tournament section LOL! Can't beat that.
The above thread hopper (BM), sure is trying to stir smelly stuff; maybe he just need to leave a BM... This Tourney is on the schedule!!!
I'll be there. Bummer it's not a SNQ.
Don't worry about your SN points, come on out and enjoy a day of disc golf at one of the best kept courses in Northwest Alabama.
Not gonna be able to make it, I have to umpire a opening day this weekend.

Can't wait to play this one...one of my favorite courses around north Alabama/Miss.....so Lets all come out and support this super important cause.
Bluff just come play it...Its a very very nice course.. Props to its ORGINAL designer Keith Spotts, a lot of hard work and time has gone into it..concrete pads..now FAIR ways...Still hate hole 6 tho...its like a splinter you can't seem to dig out..I can't get up that hill for nothing... .however I'll put forth effort Saturday.. Everyone try and come...
Just returned from Hamilton and the course is in good shape. Just a few areas of standing water in the open field holes. The creek is about a foot deep in spots and running.
They have widened fairway 9 on both sides, not much brush on either side to stop you disc, could be several OB's on the creek (left) side.

Playing Format:
Round 1: All divisions will play the short pads to "A" Original Basket Position.
Round 2: All divisions will play the long pads to "A" Original Basket Position with the exceptions of novice and juniors (they will play from the short pads both rounds).

The baskets will not move during rounds.
The short tees are all concrete
The long tees are all natural (all in good shape).

REGISTRATION IS FROM 7:30 AM - 9:10 AM
PLAYERS MEETING AT 9:30 AM AT THE CARPORT

REGISTRATION, LUNCH AND AWARDS WILL BE HELD AT THE PORTABLE CARPORT BEHIND HOLE 18 BESIDE THE SMALL PARKING LOT (LIMITED PARKING)
So...is this an SN event or not?

Great event!! great cause!!...Good job Joey Ingle and Hamilton Park & Rec.
Spotts and girly don't sound like int. names
Was not a SN qualifier.
So bagging at at tournament is OK in your eyes? Why would people play competitive golf in any tournament that the TD allows baggers?
