How long will the course remain in tournament quality shape? Are there scorecards (w/ map) available at the course or online? I am interested in trying out the course but don't want to make a big trip at a time when the course is not maintained well enough to play.

Thanks for the info,

BR DGer

It's not about maintaining the course. It's about mother nature laying off the rain for a few weeks. Whenever it hasn't rained for a while go. Just like any course, when it rains, it's wet out there. The only thing different is that Rivendell is in our beautiful bayou country and it drys a bit slower.

BR DGer, the course IS in tourney shape...it must be, because they just had tourney at Rivendell. =8) The course is very well maintained. Ain't nothing can be done about the water on the ground. It's bottom-land woods at sea-level in an area that receives a lot of rain. That means wet ground. It also means that it's easy to find your way to the next basket; just follow the footprints!

The fairways are clean and obvious (and tight), and the two sets of tee pads are easy to find. As for score cards, bring some from Baton Rouge. 18 holes is 18 holes, no matter where you play. Or keep score in your head.

The course is *well* worth the trip from Baton Rouge...bring a finesse game for the red tees and a big arm and finesse game for the white tees. It takes a tad over an hour to get there. Show up on Sunday morning to play in the local league. They'll show you around.

The fag who most loudly complains about Rivendell (who omits himself from this discussion) is the same one who has complained on the PDGA site about the one who has designed Rivendell. It is incredible how a person's identity can change so radically between venues. Everyone knows who this person is. Let us combine to extract him. Leave now. You are not wanted.
