Maybe if y'all enforced the 30 second rule in the Masters division more people would show up?

Just a suggestion.

Right.... BR - mmmm it was to Highland.... it was my 999th trip to BR - but I can't remember the tourney.... We were speaking of that the other day- there is not as strong a link between Mobile and Red Stick anymore. I know some folks will make it- Rivers loves losing to Fowler by 1 stroke!!! bud5996

I would think the economy is the biggest factor in that.

As it gets better, players will start to travel more. look forward to seeing the Mobillian Brothers and Sisters

disc golf newbie here, I'm gonna go ahead and sign up for this tourney.

Could y'all provide some guidance on whether I should sign up for novice or amateur? I've only been playing for about 4 months, but I play this course exclusively. I consistently get par on all but a couple of holes from the orange tees. I get birdies on a few holes.

Also, does this tournament follow pdga rules?

I think you will find that tournament play will test your game differently than a casual round. But I would recommend playing Amateur anyway...you would play with people closer to your level and it will help you play better. Just my 2 cents. But if this is your very first tournament, you are well within your right to play Novice. You will have a very good time.

Even if you're scoring pars from the orange tees, I would still play Novice if it's your first event, that is if you want to take home a 1st-place plaque.

Yes, with the exception of rule 801.03 Excessive Time (In Baton Rouge 30 seconds means 3 minutes)

Rule 801.03 Excessive Time

A. A maximum of 30 seconds is allowed to each player to make a throw after:

The previous player has thrown; and,
The player has taken a reasonable time to arrive at the disc and mark the lie; and,
The playing area is clear and free of distractions.

B. A player shall receive a warning for the first excessive time violation if observed by two or more players of the group or an official. The player shall be a.ssessed one penalty throw for each subsequent excessive time violation in the same round if observed by two or more players of the group or an official.

As for me, guess I'll go fishin, I'd rather wait all day for a fish to bite than wait all day for Chunk to throw LOL

If there is any justice, I'll get to play Highland this weekend. Home of my first round of golf 22 years ago. Go there before it is gone.

It will never be gone

Slight changes, concrete tee boxes, relocated holes, but it will be great

Growing pains

Glad to see so many are coming ! All are welcome even you rude magoo!

Someone will be winning a travel basket Saturday! Ring of Fires!

It is up to players on a card to enforce the rules; so if there is a problem with Rule 801.03 Excessive Time Magoo, then YOU are part of the problem. If you are going fishin with the carp make sure you don't get eaten by a shark.

maybe you will do as good as i did last week:
