Would Like To See More Etiquette In DiscGolf!!!

Our sport is growing and we need our seasoned golfers to step up and pave the road for the future of our sport. To many people out there that have no idea what the rules are or what etiquette is and it's damaging our reputation as a whole. Just kinda wanted to see what everyone's take was on this subject, if any.

If its not tournament or league play certain things should be lightened up.
Some people take themselves waaay to seriously and are a tad bit "sensitive" to infractions.
If its casual play it should be taken as that.

Now rules are rules and I for one believe they should be respected but again
some people think they're some sort of all knowing power wielding judge of all.

Those people need real jobs and lives.

What happened Scott??? Dish it :) JK!!! ;)

On a serious note. It takes folks just letting others know what is proper etiquette or not. Sometimes folks just don't know. Most don't carry a rule book, nor have they seen it. Honestly, I have one, but I don't think I've ever broken the spine of the book. I know the rules that I need for tournament play, and have it just in case. Lead by example, and help those who don't have the experience. Now, if someone has been playing for a looooong time, then that's a whole-nother ball game. If you been playing for a couple years then you should know the etiquette.

I agree with Leslie! Here in FWB we have exploded with new disc golfers. We make sure to take the time to help and answer any questions they might have. We also teach dg to the elem. kids in alot of our schools, and are starting them early with the rules! Sydney, my niece is a great example! As for some of the vet. dgers, sometimes its like beating a dead horse, but we still try!!

We've had 5 new tournament players come through the school this past year. I cover etiquette with them during our club rounds. It's definitely something that needs to start being enforced with the new players.
I've only encountered a few "veteran" players that have little to no etiquette.
