Hey Mike: Since our team is the only Novice team signed up, you can tell me if you want to bump us into the next division. We don't mind losing. It's our first tournament.

Danny you should ;move to the Amateur Division to get points, I am not sure but I don't think Novice get any points. Someone please clarify this for me.

Danny, you can wait until Saturday to decide what division you want to compete in. Doesn't matter what division you play though as far as playing in "Don's Tournament"... you had to have earned points for last year's season which ended May 31.

Thanks Don, and thanks again for picking up the tab on the SN fees...although I can't help but wonder if we would have sold out anyway.

Doesn't matter to me if we sold out or not, I just thought it should be SN qualifier and did what I could to help.

Mike; My son (The Master Assissin) has been recruited for some heavy paintball action for Saturday, Which means I will be enjoying the company of a great friend Jim Blansett, so I would like to move to Grand Masters and if O.K. we will pay the difference Sat. morning, just let me know what you would prefer.

Thanks
Team Gemini

Yes this means we will be opening a can of whooped Donkey on my Buddy, Big Brown, see you soon Brother

According to Big Brown all GM teams have to pony up for a hole sponsor, but otherwise that sounds reasonable.

Thanks to our latest Hole Sponsors, AA Pool Service and the Aardvarks! (They had a contest to see who would be first in alphabetical order)
Jim yes, you can bring it Saturday. Make sure your partner Dex doesn't forget his guitar, so he can sing the Big Brown Blues.

Just like "if they don't fit you must acquit"....the local interpretation is "Big Brown you are going DOWN".....could that be lyrics for a song Dex?

Grounds Krewe Update:

Regular tees are looking good despite about 5 inches of rain since Thursday. Hole 8 is a little troublesome at this point, but the Krewe thinks it will be ready soon.

On the pro (Silver) tees, the Krewe has decided that Hole 4 will not have a pro tee. That means that there will be a total of 12 pro tees:

1,2,6,7,8,9,11,12,13,15,16,17 are the holes with pro (Silver) tees. 3,4,5,10,14,18 use the regular tees both rounds (18 will be in the long pin across the lagoon for the second round)

Here's the links to the printable scorecards again:

Lost a 150 Class Champion Firebird (blue) in the lagoon at 18. Would appreciate any help in recovery.

First time on course was Sunday morning. A beautiful course which has some good use of available foliage, water and out-of-bounds to make it into one of my new favorites. Good job on the design, Bluff.

BTW....I noticed that some reviewers on dgcoursereview.com listed proximity to roads/sidewalks as negatives. In my opinion, they are only negatives if you throw when pedestrians, bikers or cars are actually present. Wait.

The only negative I noticed....and this is in no way due to the design....was the height of the grass on that particular date. I understand that is to be expected at any municipal park. Can't wait to return.

What is the best route from Baton Rouge, and where will tourney central be set up?

I am sure this was posted somewhere, sorry

The cap will be 54 teams unless the park gives us permission to use three temp holes which would bump up the cap to 63 teams.

Waiting on a reply from the park. They should be able to mow the grass today or tomorrow since the rain has stopped.

Dex, from BR take I-610 to Canal Blvd. Take a right on Canal to the first light (Navarre). Turn left then follow that street until it deadends at Marconi. Turn left on Marconi then you go under an underpass, then take the first right after that (Zachary Taylor St). Then you take the first right off of Zachary Taylor which brings you back under an underpass and you will be at tournament HQ. HQ will be set up between hole 1's tee and 11's basket.

There is parking available along holes 7-11 also by 1 and also behind the old maintenance building behind hole 2.

Mikey, I believe Paul "Chernobyl" Vogel and Dave "RooferDave" Ferguson are teaming up in GM. They should be at the park today to sign up.
