No dis intended to our friends running and attending the Tishomingo Ice bowl on the same date. There was simply no near date that did not create a bigger conflict. Tish is 4 hours from Jackson. I know many of you from north or east of Jackson may prefer the Tish tourney but I am speculating that some folks south or west of Jackson will not want to drive over 4 hours and will choose our event instead of staying home that weekend.

Just wanted to bring this thread back to the top. All those who don't want to go to Tishomingo please come play in Jackson. I barely defended my #15 bag tag at the Paul B Ice Bowl, so come and get it if you can. If anyone needs anything let me know.

Hey Kevin, Terry Z and I (Will T) are going to be there, but will prob leave on Fri after I get off work. Will call about a place to stay. John Fowler might want to come as well, so BR will show.

By the way, I have #19, so I challenge you to a duel!!!!

See You Friday,
Willy BT

Great. I’m glad to hear you guys are coming. Now for specific points:

1. Will T., I’ll be happy to accept your BT challenge. I think Doug has a lower number than me again now (Tony and Stephen mugged him at Lake Lowndes but I think he upgraded at the Ice Bowl). Even if I get your 19 I will probably still have an unsustainable price on my head. I have developed a nice little rule for casual round challenges, in case you don’t take my 15 in the tournament for whatever reason. If a higher number challenges me (in a casual round) and loses he owes me $5.00. Whataya think of that.

2. As for CTP’s, we have not done a very good job with that this time I have to admit. The Judges have worked pretty hard on many aspects including the course and on our tournament running preparedness. However CTP’s have been somewhat neglected this time. Any help or CTP donations will be appreciated.

3. As for places to stay:

a. I have several house guests already supposed to be staying. I might have floor space for 1 or 2 more but it is a little hard to work out because I have a Friday night gig. I will leave home around 8:30 Friday night and not return until 2 or 3 in the morning. I know, I’m nuts to do that before a tournament but it just worked out that way.

b. My wife has graciously consented to allow golfers to stay in her yoga studio for $10 a person. It is 10 minutes or less from the course. There are no beds, 2 bathrooms, only 1 shower, a microwave, a small refrigerator and virtually unlimited floor space covered with rubber mat tile. It is warehouse size. No smoking allowed inside. Take your shoes off in the front room before you enter the workout area. Another hitch is there are several activities going on until about 9:30 pm Friday night. If you don’t need a bed and don’t mind waiting until after then it is an option - not much but the best I could come up with. Send me an e-mail or call if you are interested and I’ll hook you up.

c. I invite the other Judges to chime in here if they have any alternatives to offer.

d. There are plenty of motels/hotels near the course. I would recommend North of the course on 55 and there are a few on Lakeland Drive. This is the better part of town without being too pricey.

e. There are camp sites on the Mayes Lake side of the course, but they might cost as much as the yoga studio option.

Of course anybody who wants to hear some good Jazz can find me at George Street Friday night playing with The Vamps.
