Ford Park Spring Challenge - 3 March 2012
January 25, 2012 05:43PM
Minority Disc golf presents to you the Ford PArk Spring Challenge on March 3,2012. Like all of our events it will be dual sanctioned (pdga/sn) for you guys out there that would like an opportunity to raise your pdga rating and for you guys that like to chase sn points. There will be NO pdga non-membership fee for this event because like the icebowl it is a charity event. This event is in efforts to raise money for the Wounded Warriors program. We have a few local veteran players here so this event hits home for them. Donations are accepted. The main mission for this event is 1)to raise as much money as possible for the organization 2)to provide golfers with a fun event that will hopefully help further their disc golf skills and 3)to promote the sport that we all care about. If you are free on that saturday, come out to support a great cause and come check out one of the best courses the state has to offer(My personal favorite). As always I will try to get lunch for you guys, ace pot, maybe ctps, and possible long drive contest(If anybody dares to challenge Omar). We have contacted the local news station so they will be there recording in efforts to promote and grow the sport. Registration is from 7:30-8:30. Players meeting at 8:45 followed by tee-off at 9. Everybody will play 2 rds of 21 holes. Sr Grnd Masters, Women, novice and jrs will play blue tees both rds. Adv masters and Ams will play 1 rd of blues and 1 rd from the concrete. All pro, pro master and adv ams will play 1 rd of concrete and 1 rd of red tees. Hope to see you guys there. Stay blessed.

Entry fees:
Pro open-$50
Pro Master-$50
Sr. Grand Master-$40
Adv am-$40
Adv Master-$40
Am-$35
Women-$35
Novice-$20
Jr-$20

So will this event be straight C-tier, XC-Comp. Endowment or XC-Charity?
I'm asking because I read above:
"There will be NO pdga non-membership fee for this event because like the icebowl it is a charity event." (A.W.)
and then:
"...and if your not pdga current there is a $10 fee " (S.C.)

I'll be there either way.

The pdga non-membership fee WILL be enforced. The guy who was getting everyrthing together for the wounded warrior charity was not ready in time so this project will be held at a later date. Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused anybody

Nope!

Just came from Ford Park and there's a huge crew cleaning up. They are mowing, blowing, weed eating, picking up limbs and trash.

I'll get one in the books just for u Jamie.
Lookin like it should be good weather and a good turnout. Got a crew from Tyler, Longview, Nacodotches, Monroe, dallas, and little rock supposedly coming. Would be kool to get some home staters from down south up this way but if not oh well. I know John fowler and E Tracy r scared to play up this way ;-)
