Needed-SN History For School Report ASAP
May 09, 2012 02:39PM
I know it is late notice but my mother aka homeschool teacher just informed me that I will need to give a presentation to my co-op Friday. I would like to do it on the history of Southern Nationals. I searched the website and found little info. I was wondering if there was anyone out there that could help me with the following questions.

Who was the founder or founders? Where was it formed?

When was the first championships held? Where? Was am and pro differant tournaments? If they where together when did they split? Is there a list of champions for each year of existence?

When where that first Doubles Championship and where did it take place?

What is the goal, vision, purpuse for the SN.

Has anyone tracked the growth the SN and if so what does it look like?

I know that it is short notice but any help I get will be appreciated. I am also preparing another report just incase this idea doesn't work out. Thanks

I wouldl like to read this paper for sure. I cannot help you on these quesitons and I am sorry for that. I don't have the history with SN.

What is the goal, vision, purpuse for the SN Would like to read about this response.

Has anyone tracked the growth the SN and if so what does it look like? Would like to read about this as well.
You might only be able to track it by the championships each year since there is not a membership. SN sells bag tags, but it hasn't be kept track of correctly previously before this year. John Kittrell has been doing a fantastic job keep SN together and tracking information like this.
Contact him.
Jim Orum is One of the Co-Founders of Southern Nationals.

Good luck

Who was the founder or founders? Where was it formed?

Founders were Jim Orum and Terry Rester. It started in Mobile Alabama with the first SN championship held in 1997

When was the first championships held? Where? Was am and pro differant tournaments? If they where together when did they split? Is there a list of champions for each year of existence?

First Championship was held in Mobile AL. Both the Pro and AM Championship was held together in Mobile until the 2002-2003 season when they not only split but started moving around the sn region

When where that first Doubles Championship and where did it take place?
First Doubles was held in Memphis, TN in 2004

Will try to add more later have a plane to catch......search past thread of the pro championships will help with past winners. Will add more later if I can...

I have to repost the results from the 2011 ......there is a box that if it isn't unclicked assumes the first line is the header ......in this case the first line is the advanced winner.......I'll correct it when I get home next Monday.....
