Go Clayton!

Looks another another skewed skill level of a competitor, 10 stroke gap between 1st and 2nd. Maybe the genius' will get it right next year. Third times the charm right? At least the guy is cool and from Alabama. Could be a bama sweep!
Re: Everything USDGC
October 04, 2012 05:44PM
I don't think it's skewed at all this year........ Without stroke and distance this year, scores are going to be way lower...... He's a 963 rated player, from 49 rounds used and only 4 of them over 1000...... He's just playing good golf!

There shouldn't be a 10 stroke gap between 1st and 2nd after 2 rounds. Look how close the other scores are. IMO.
Re: Everything USDGC
October 04, 2012 06:25PM
There's always going to be someone shooting great golf that weekend....... Just because someone shoots 1000+ rated golf on any given weekend, doesn't mean they are a 1000+ rated golfer! The sun shines on a dogs a** from time to time......... Dillon I'm sure you have even shot a hot round a couple of times in a row ?

Not in a row, otherwise I would have about 20 more wins, lol.

At this rate he will win by over 20 strokes, and on my book that's unacceptable for PE. Guess we will see.

I do not think Jared's skill level is skewed

this is the kind of player he is - massively talented, but usually has consistency problems, just take a look at his tournament results

however, this course plays to his advantage really well because it is fairly open and he has a cannon for an arm - keep it in bounds and make some putts and you can shoot well here and that is what he is doing

once he improves his consistency, he will be among the better players in the game
Re: Everything USDGC

I agree with Clayton. I played with him at Collegiate Nationals this past April. I smoked him the final round because he was having consistency issues. Jared has much more raw talent than most disc golfers, but Clayton was spot on that consistency has held him back. Jared seems to be putting both aspects together and I hope he continues.
Re: Everything USDGC

Jared is a realy good golfer with a lot of distance. Everthing is in his range and that gives him a great advantage....didn't jared shoot like a 61 in one of his rounds?

Cameron Colg..is making a move on Lacastro in the leader group - Cam. is presently in 4th by a stroke and can make the final leader group if he holds that position. Lacastro has had some OB issues. Go Cam!

It sure looked like it, until those last two putts. The short one on seventeen crushed him.

The payout for this is sweet(always is). Last place cash 800 bucks!!

Except when they went to this new dumb "performance edition" format they said the payout would be better. Substantially less payout than the 2010 edition when Will won $4,500.00 more for 1st place. 2nd place was $2,000 more in 2010. 3rd place was $1,500 more and 4th place was $1,000 more. So that's $9,000 less to the top 4 places than two years ago.

Just sayin'

Bluff, that might be because there were 127 less open players this year, or maybe they just did the payouts in the dark? Lol
Re: Everything USDGC
October 07, 2012 01:08PM
Or maybe it was because the great No Team didn't run it since all of their events are top notch and flawless...right!
Re: Everything USDGC
October 07, 2012 02:32PM
Innova never said the payout would be better if you look back at their statements after 2010 when they announced the change to Performance Edition. Many pros assumed/hoped the change meant it would be better in 2012. I suspected they would pay less than $10K for first unless new big sponsors entered the picture. I think now they just want their first place to be higher than Pro Worlds or any other Majors' first place (which it was).

Re: Everything USDGC

The payout didn't reward the people who shot well as much as years in the past, the payout rewarded the people who shot average. Only 58 ppl in the tournament and they payed 36th, $800. So, I made 500 dollars more than somebody I beat by more than 20 strokes and 27 spots better. That's odd in my opinion!

Re: Everything USDGC

Maybe it'll take them a few times to get it right, sorta like the first performance edition...
Re: Everything USDGC
October 07, 2012 04:43PM
They always planned to pay 36 which is half of their planned full field of 72. The last cash player this year averaged 1008 rating and was paid $800. In 2010, the players who averaged 1008 round rating earned $475. That would indicate Open players were paid better this year for the same performance as before.

No Chuck, the numbers you state only serve to completely validate what Cam said. How can you say all Open players were paid better for the same performance when the top 5 were compensated much less?

Is math not your best subject anymore Chuck? Did you move to Dillon & Cody's hometown?
Re: Everything USDGC
October 07, 2012 05:34PM
I was simply referring to the previous equivalent performance to the last place payout this year and the reason why 36 were paid. Nothing more.

There was more cash added to the purse this year both in absolute numbers and on a per player basis. Entry fee in 2010 and 2012 was $225. Total purse in 2012=$50,300-$13,050 entry fees=$37,250 added. In 2010 total purse=$75,000-$41,625 entry fees=$33,375 added.

That's $180.41 added per Open player in 2010 and a whopping $642.24 added per Open player in 2012.
