A SN qualifier and a SNAC fundraiser event!!!!!!
...
Each player will receive a custom stamped disc from this event in which you must play the entire event with. The custom stamped disc will be a Buzz from Discraft. This includes drives and putts.

Can stipulations like which kind of disc must be used for drives and putts be put on a SNDG qualifier?

Don't get me wrong, I like tournaments like this, but I've never seen them as qualifier before. I'm not trying to derail a tournament here, just curious and looking discussion.

I can't find a rule prohibiting such events!!!

This was somewhat brought up in a meeting last year sometime in regards to the Mobile Mixer and the SN Cup. With those we decided that everyone should get 2 points in their normal division, no matter where they finished because so many division would playing together. Now I wouldn't consider this type of event to fall into that category. I will add this to the list of topics again.

I would surley hope that points would be awarded the same as in any other event, there are going to be defined divisions same as any other event. We are going to play 2 rounds of 18 holes..same as any other event...Not seeing why we would only want to award 2 points per player?

The Roc run(Shelby Forest) has not been a sanctioned event. It seems like people have more fun that way.
I would be willing to bet that most of the competitors don't care about the points...in this type of event.

Hmmm, it seems that this will be yet another opportunity for folks to get points and qualify for the championship series. . . . I just don't see a downside to it being sanctioned!

It is a tournament put on by the "Meeman Demons" of the Forest.
Why would we want to sanction it? We hit our maximum number almost every year.

It is for fun, not points.

I was referring to the Buzzz Stampede. Sorry for not being clear......

So your saying if the event is sanctioned players will not have as much fun? Not understanding where sanctioning has anything to do with having a good time playing in it.
Hit our maximum number of what? players in the Roc run event?
I'm all about sanctioning as many events as I can. All that does is add $$$$ to the SNCs at the end of the season. This is a SNAC fundraiser event but if we have a few Pro players show up and play, that is money added to them in the end as well. I would like more feedback from the SN players as to it being sanctioned or not.

Maximum number of players.

sanctioning it, means following pdga rules?...right?
The roc run has NOTHING to do with PDGA rules.
All about fun with frisbees, not about competition.

Anyways, good luck.
At least get good buzzz's that people can find...not that full color stuff that is like camo in the leaves.

if divisions are offered and the rules are the same for everyone

why would it not be sanctioned, seems fair to me

So get your Buzzz on with your bad self

The more sanctioned events there are, the more money comes into SN. The more money that comes in, the better the product that comes out at the Championship Series as far as a better payout........right??

if i wanted fun with frisbees....i wouldn't drive 1-1/2 hours to do it.....less dope heads and drunks = better event.

The answer is: YES

It is perfectly legal for any TD/club to host an SN Qualifier and stipulate that a certain type of disc(s) be used.

In fact, Baton Rouge just had a one-disc division at the Zephyrman Memorial and SN points were awarded for that.

So we would encourage the folks from the Tombigbee Buzz Stinger Stampede to sanction with the SN. Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm!

I don't see an issue with it either. I would think that points would be awarded just like other sn tournaments within the normal points divisions. As long as the tds rules for the tournament are posted in advance of the tournament all is good....

I agree fair warning has been given.

So next question is what if a player loses his tournament Buzzz during a round?

Is he out of the tournament?
Can he use other Buzzzes (if so is a Buzzz SS allowed)?
Can he buy another tournament Buzzz?

Thanks,
Micah

I cant see how you will be able to lose a disc on this course... no water...no deep ditches... holes are very short...I am assuming you have never played Tombigbee 1 before. going to be alot of man made alterations to course. yes, there will be more for sale ... no, you can't use an SS... you can use an ESP tho.

You got something against this event?

Just come and enjoy.....

Re: Stipulations on Tombigbee Buzz Stinger Stampede

All I am saying is, the main reason I like disc golf is because I like to compete and meet new folks competing. Do i care if I lose? Sure but its not the end of the world if I lose because there are bigger issues than disc golf in my life. When I go disc golfing do I like seeing people drunk or high? Absolutely not. If a disc golf event isn't sanctioned, then it could mean that their are no rules against these kinds of things. Leave the weed at home.

Dustin, I hate going to tournaments where they allow bad amateurs like you to play in the pro divisions, but I'm not going to tell bad amateurs they can't have fun, so quit judging the rest of the folks just trying to have fun just like you.

And it is very obvious you don't mind if you lose...because you do it just about every time you play pro LOL

How is it judging when most of the time it is breaking the law? I don't want to get in trouble for others actions.

So how many times in the past have you gotten in trouble for someone else's actions? Funny, I haven't heard of any police actions at disc golf events. Maybe people aren't doing what you imagine Dustin...certainly if people were breaking the law the cops would be there arresting players. So why does the SN need to have rules about drugs if the cops will enforce the rules for us?
