Windy Hills Open
February 01, 2003 01:43PM
March 29, 2003, Pearl River Community College will have a SNQ tournament to help raise money for the chapel fund at the college. We will need three additional baskets to help with the tourney. A course map, and score card will be posted at the website below. Believe me when I tell you that this course has something to offer everyone. The Am tees are varied with lakes, forrest, roads and other obstacles offering plenty of challenges. The pro tees take all of the great aspects of the am course and simply make them better. We will also be modifying the layout next week to help cut down on the walking, while adding some amazing shots. Come visit the website to see the latest as we plan to put on one of the best tournaments of the year. The college will be catering the event, so food is provided at a very reasonable cost and we will also try to get one of the conference rooms for the award ceremony. Look foward to see you soon.

Shane,
Its good to see that you are going to give Jonas a hand in running this event. I'm sure he will need it, this being his first time running a tournament and all. What is this workday you mentioned above???

Tony,

Good to hear from you. We will be moving baskets and rearranging the course (one last time hopefully) also, we need some cement cylinders for the rec tees. If you guys could bring some of those from hattiesburg I would appreciate it. Jonas knows where to get them.

For all those who plan to play the Wildcat Trace some time soon, we have made some minor modifications.
Hole #1 has been removed, and hole #2 has become 1. #3 has become #2.
Hole #4 is now #3, but plays uphill instead of downhill.
Hole #4 now plays through old #5's fairway and the pin is where #5 pro teepad was.
Hole #5's pin placement is the same, but the tee pad has moved closer to the fence behind faculty housing.
Hope this isn't too confusing. If anyone is in the neighborhood, I will be playing in Poplarville on Sunday.

There have been two $25 CTP's added for the tournament. WHOOT! We also could still use some hole sponsors. It only cost $25 to sponsor a hole and it goes for a good cause.

Thinking of having ring of fire and a putting contest at the end of the second round. Just trying to throw out a few more oppurtunities for people to win stuff. Winning stuff is always a good thing.

BTW, for interested parties, the current plan is for 21 holes to be played at the tournament. One of them will be the old #1, and the other two ad a couple of fun shots with some elevation changes.

There has been a large effort to raise money through sponsorship for the Chapel project that the college is attempting to raise money for. The sponsorship for a tee sign during the round is $25. With that being said, we currently have two $25 CTP's for the round. I was wondering if any of the clubs or even individuals out there might be willing to donate a disc or such for more CTP's or ring of fire etc. I want to raise money for the chapel of course, but I also want to give back to the players, so if $25 is too much for you to sponsor a hole, throw in a disc or shirt or something else. Every little bit helps make the tournament that much more fun for everyone.

I have a photo of my butt that I would like to offer for a FTP (farthest from the pin). That's right, worst shot on the hole has to take home a picture of my ugly bottom! That should inspire better throws.
