BOD Voting
August 24, 2011 07:23AM
I was wondering today about the voting. I saw it was closed topic on the general discussion. One idea I had was, do we have a count of how many votes have been cast yet?

Not looking for a number for who received them, but how many have been cast so far. Some players might be interested in this number.......gives a bit of credibility to the voting right?

I for one would like to see a big number of votes (lump sum) as opposed to under 100 votes.

Any thoughts??

There have been 38 online votes.

Thanks Justin. Did any voting occur at the SNAC?

There were several people who voted at SNDC.

Who ya gonna vote for, when not a single one of em has posted anything about themselves.who they are, their possible qualifications, their outlook on the future of the series, their ideas or anything.I mean seriously do these ppl just assume everyone in sn discgolf land knows who they are and what their ideas may be

Scotty I actually had posted what I thought the SN Bod members duties were here:

It's about six threads down. As for the voting at the SNAC, Josh gave me the ballots along with the new SN bag tags and the points discs. I tried to let people know about it but with two pools I don't think everyone realized that it was available. I still have the ballots (although I'm not sure how I became in charge of that there) and also think that any votes cast for me there should be invalid. Not sure how many there are, they were filled out and put back into the envelope...

Sorry john, you are definitely the exception, have and always will be hopefully.your tenure (hopefully) can not begin soon enough in my opinion and replace some of rhese other members and help steer this series back to the land of credibility and integrity that it once was..

The paper ballots should be inserted into the online form for easy calculation.

Messing with ballots, in any manner, is never a good idea!!!! I am sure someone can count the paper ballots. Remember:

Yes, Mr. Vandalay, I'd like to place 1 vote for Marc please.

How is that messing with them? Putting them into a database so that we can maintain the record doesn't sound like "messing" with the ballots to me.

Any time you change the form a vote was cast in you are "messing" with the votes......but I really don't care what you do Justin......it wouldn't matter, you are going to do what you want anyway.

That is not entirely correct Keith. Votes being "scanned" and put into a database is just compiling the results into a spreadsheet rather than a "stacka ballots."

I didn't see him put scanned into a data base.....My understanding of his comment was to put them into a data base......

I also doubt he would be burning the "evidence" (original ballots)... so if someone wanted a hand recount it wouldn't be difficult.

But it WOULD be much easier to have them all entered digitally for tallying.

I guess you have me all figured out then, huh? You have a lot to learn.

There's little to no record keeping around here. Either you try to keep up with the paper ballots, or you insert them into a digital database. Even if they aren't put into the electronic system for tallying and verification of no double-votes, you're still counting on the person that counted them to be honest.

Justin has my vote on his honesty. very stand up gentlemen there.
Re: BOD Voting

I have never questioned Justin's honesty..........Although, I do have my questions about other thing he has claimed to me, I have kept my personal judgement about him to myself... and will continue to do so. I know this upsets the "Justice League", but it is what it is. If this causes friction between ya'll and me, o well there is nothing I can do about that.......

I have no reason to lie to you or anybody, Keith. If I told you something, personally, between the two of us, I was being honest as well. If you have a specific problem or uncertainty about me, you're more than welcome to PM me about it.

There's no friction, man. This isn't high school. Just talk to me about it.
