Ever since then the postal service completely supports itself through stamp sales, getting only a modest sum from Congress each year for mail for blind people (like JK) and Congressional franking privileges. Also i must point out that the majority of stamps sold these days are self-adhesive and therefore need no licking, like when the SN Board of Scum licks Jim O's behind at every opportunity.

On another note, I had worked on some BY-Law/Rule?whatever we call 'em via Bill Trousdale.

The changes I dealt with were not related to this SNAC thing....they were related to quorums and voting, etc.

No one LETS them post! That is the point I eveidently failed to get across, at least to you!

The way this forum is set up at the moment, ANYONE can post, to ANY thread.

It is very hard for the very few who have the power to delete posts, of which I am not one, to read each and every post and delete the ones such as you are talking about.

It would probably be more productive for you to send John an email to let him know where these posts are at, so that he can delete them instead of the non-productive post of asking that they be asked for sponsorship. Not really sure if we want them to sponsor sport, but there would sure be worse sponsors.

You cannot prevent my posting any more than I can prevent yours, or either one of us can prevent the casinos or sex sites from posting. Until we go with a different system, we will either have to put up with it, or make those in charge aware so that they can delete them.

They are a pain, to be sure. I don't have a clue as to why they would pick that particular thread to spam. Go figure. .

i think the board should designate a certain amount to go back to the host of the championships,then everything else should go back to the players.all the other tournaments make money off the ams all year long.this is a special tournament that should be differant from all others.it should also be required to have the host city feed us,the mardis gras madness has so much good food,now thats how it should be done.ive been to regular tournaments that had food for us.i would have thought for sure we would have had some good cajun food at the last championship,that was such a dissapointment.

That is being discussed whether the host club should be given a certain amount, I know 500 has been stated by different persons as being fair conpensation.

As for the food at the tournament, I don't think that should be a requirement. I know that at the MGM that food is provided, I've been to a couple and the food is always good and welcome. A couple questions though. Was that food purchased by the host club or donated by sponsors. If you can get sponsors that won't donate money but will donate food that's great and as a player that a bonus. I know Pat Fisher was great at getting Hooters to donate food at a couple. However, would the majority of am players want money that would have gone towards the payout used to provide meals is there are no food sponsors.

If a host can find someone willing to cook for potentially 125-150 players that would be great, those volunteers are hard to come by. Thank the ones that do such as Mark Mann at the Howler, he's always the one cooking on Saturday night. Thanks Mark...

I'm optimistic that there will be cities/clubs that will step up. With guidelines in place that can only help eliminate potential problems. We have to remember to make these minimum guidelines that any potential host can achieve. Hosts are always welcome to exceed expectations.

I know Wall Doxey may potentially have McDonalds sponsoring their bid for another championship in 07. They are the host of the SN Doubles Championship ($4000 added from McDonalds once again) Hopefully the current climate on this formum won't have an adverse affect regarding that.

Let's hope potential host clubs/cities find the standards we establish to be reasonable. Perhaps when we finalize our plans, we post them here for feedback before we take a final vote. Of course, that would take more time and likely anger those who wanted this done last year. I've come to the conclusion that probably nothing we do will appease certain folks out there. But at least we're trying. rWc

If the food is given a fair value (not, say, a Disney-esque $6 hamburger) I don't think most players would have a problem with that money going to buy food. Most of them were going to spend that money on food anyway. I know at 99% of ultimate tournaments, the money from entry fees goes to free beer on Saturday night, with bananas and bagels and bottled water usually provided in the mornings. Sometimes you get fed, usually by a sponsor. Semolina has always been great at the Mardi Gras Ultimate tournameny in BR. Players mostly play for the glory. Although I did win $2 one time in Little Rock when we came in 2nd:p I know we have created a culture in disc golf among amateurs where they expect prizes, but I think if you can show them how well you treated them and give them lots of neat goodies and extras, they will be happy. The best-case scenario would be that you get more players who don't really expect to win but who love the game showing up just for all the fun. God knows my Southern Miss ultimate team never won very many games, but we sure as hell had a good time. And we won a few parties along the way.

point by point and the following has been approved by the SN board in regards to the SNAC. The rest of the guidlines will be discussed at a meeting next week...


Approved so far...

1.All SN fees are turned over to the host city along with a breakdown regarding the amount that was collected for each division. This information is provided by the SN treasurer to the host city, SN Board and SN players via the SN forum. All SN fees will be returned to the respective division.

2.Each division should payout a minimum of 125% of SN fees and Entry fee collected. i.e. if $1000 in SN fees and entry fees were collected for the Advanced division then $1250 should be paid out in fair retail value.

3.What constitutes Payout?
...a.Payout includes the prizes given out to the top 35% in the advanced am divisions (Adv Men, Adv Masters, Adv Women)
...b.Payout includes the prizes given out to the top 45% in the am divisions (Am Men, Am Masters, Am Women, Juniors)
...c.Trophies in ACTUAL cost for each division.
...d.Payout includes the player’s package that is given out to all registered players in their respective division.
...e.Payout includes any prizes for contests that are broken down by division, such as putting, driving contests.
...f. Payout includes any prizes for CTPs that are broken down by division.

4.Each player should get a players package with a fair retail value of at least $35 including as a minimum. Contents of the players pack will be determined by the host. The mark-up to retail value for items such as shirts and discs will be approved by the sn board. Approval for other items in the players pack in regards to what can be considered in regards to payout will be by the sn board.

Lots more to discuss, the other 8 points as well as determining if a club can make some profit or not. Even at 125% of entry and SN fee if the host has good sponsorship this will be easy to achieve. These are only minimum requirements after all. Should a host/club only be allowed to make a certain amount once the minimum requirements are met? What to do with the remainder once the 125% is satisfied, require the club to either put the rest back into the SNAC (there's Mikey's food idea) or turn over profits over "X" amount to be used for pro championship, promotion etc.

Still a lot to determine and input from the masses is appreciated anonymously or not as long as its constructive...

I want you all to go to an ultimate tournament in your area. Go to Dead Elvis in Memphis, Mud Bowl in Birmingham, or Mardi Gras in Baton Rouge. Especially Mardi Gras in Baton Rouge. 100 ultimate teams can't be wrong. How can they get a couple thousand kids to come out to Highland Road park and run their @#$%& off all weekend with 99% of them knowing they will get no material reward? Free food, booze, and a thousand friends.
