Hey all, I have a friend that is looking to move to Tuscaloosa and is trying to learn about about the mental health/health systems in the area or in the state of alabama in general. If any of you have any ideas, know names of major hospitals, or anything related and useful it would be greatly appreciated. I wish I had something disc golf related to say, or was even down there to play with you guys. hope all is well with all of you.

I'm not sure if you mean for a job or for a referal, but here is some info either way:

Actually the state's highest security mental facility Bryce Hospital is located in T'town. Very scary place. Not where you want to be.

[en.wikipedia.org]

Also the VA has a psychiatric facility in town. Again, not a fun place.

Here is the link to the Alabama Department of Mental Health:

They could assist him with a psychiatric referal and/or have a list of job openings.

PS I work at a hospital with a geropsychiatric ward.

Oh and here is the link to the local hospital: [www.dchsystem.com]

It has a Doctor referal section.

I don't know, but I hear Hattiesburg has a pretty good sex addiction facility.
