Call to arms: Actual volunteers needed for Acadiana
August 30, 2010 04:38PM
I placed a wanted ad on craigslist for fill dirt and concrete "rip rap" to fill in the elevated basket position on hole 9 duzee.

I've recieved two emails from Lafayette home owners who said we can get dirt and rip rap from their property for free.

Whoot! Free is such an awesome price.

It would be helpful if folks with pick em up trucks could help us. As soon as we can get lined up, i'll arrange it with the homeowners.

This is a long term project. Those of us who started it have no finish date in mind. It will be done when it is done.

70 cubic yards of dirt were delivered to Acadiana park today. The front end loader will be moving the dirt in two weeks. We dedinately will need some help spreading it.

I also spent about thirty minutes with Eddie from the parks and recreation department. He voiced some concerns about the slope of the hill and exactly how far we can build out. I explained it to Pat and Jacques. Jacques will be doing some more construction on the hill to strengthen the frame.

that frame as it exists will be bullet proof.

adding more to it will make it nuke proof.

regardless, it will end up par proof for many of you.

Who are you ADGA25? I see that you just registered today and have 25 posts already and several of them not very good. Who are you? Are you the new spokesperson for ADGA? I sure hope not!

Howdy Robert Mac,

I'm the guy (along with Jabba) who explained what bag tags are to Jimo.

How much has that raised to date? Every time you purchase a SN bag tag, think of me.

Ever play the Duzee? I'm the guy (with 4net) who laid out holes 8 & 9 and other challenging holes on the Duzee.
(the non short holes) and helped add most of the pro tees at Acadiana.

Ever attend the LA Open or LA Doubles? I'm the guy that assisted Toad (and zinger) start those events
as well as the Jan Lafayette event.

Ever attend worlds? I'm one of those people who didn't compete... but volunteered at a Pro Worlds.

I'm the guy that told you people long ago that gilligan is an idiot.

I'm just a volunteer since 1999. Hope you are well.

Oh, I almost forgot... remember the SNACs in Lafayette when Duvio melted down?

I'm the guy who took over the awards ceremony because everyone else was standing there with their jaws wide open in shock.

I'm also the guy that mentioned to the Lafayette crew a month before that SNAC that we shouldn't allow Duvio to be the TD because it was obvious he was stressing about it.

I wonder what the total amount of money raised by the bag tags amounts to after all these years?

Anyone?

What about all the clubs across the SN that suddenly had tags right after that?

No amount of crap computers donated will reach that amount any time soon, is my guess.

No, I was saying thank goodness for that person (who ever they are) because of them the SN and other clubs have raised a lot of money.

It was in black and white... stop trying to be the center of everything.

funny how those who want the goverment to give them everything and prefer to do business under the radar think that money grows on trees and hate those who start legitimate for profit businesses that actually fuel the economy.

I wish people like you could get your way for four years and figure out that not working and sharing everything results in nothing.

Funny how the reich wing can lose 14 trillion dollars in 8 yrs and not take responsibility for their debacle.

disagree? take it up with forbes magazine and cbo.gov

Republican presidents -longest modern recession

#1 Reagan 1981/82 recession - 18 months

#2 Bush2 2007/10 recession - STILL counting

#3 Ford 1973/75 recession -14 months

#4 Bush1 recession 1990/91- 9 months

------

Clinton inherited a $290 billion deficit from George H.W. Bush. He reversed Bush's and Reagan's trickle down economic policies, raising taxes on the wealthy, and reducing them on the working and middle classes. He was able to reduce the deficit every single year of his presidency. By 1997, the government was running budgetary surpluses, the first since 1969. He delivered a $230 billion surplus in 2000.

Bush reversed Clinton's policies, lowering taxes on the very wealthy - his "base" as he called them - and effectively raising them on everyone else. In his first full year at the helm of the economy, he delivered a $157 billion deficit, and he never looked back. By 2004, the deficits were topping $400 billion a year. While Clinton delivered surpluses, Bush's deficits totaled some $3.7 trillion over his eight-year term. Clinton 6: Bush 0.

There is no subtlety, no ambiguity about the data or the economic performance they reveal. By every single measure, Bush's policies and tenure were worse - much worse - for the American economy and the American people than those pursued by Bill Clinton. And we are still living today in the aftermath of the destruction they have wrought.

We could add any number of other measures as well, measures not offered up by Forbes but which are still straightforward indices of economic performance. Clinton reduced poverty, from 15.1% when he took office to 11.3% when he left. Bush increased it, from 11.3% when he started to 12.5% at the end of 2008.

The stock market more than tripled under Clinton's tenure. The Dow went from 3,241 when he took office to 10,587 on the day he left. It actually declined under Bush's tenure, from 10,587 on the day he took office to 8,281 on the day he left. Between the recent stock market collapse and the housing crash, Bush destroyed more than $14 trillion in consumer wealth, a staggering, almost incomprehensible legacy of devastation that will haunt Americans for decades to come.

White people.

Wow. You can't be that self-hating and stupid.

I love media-fed, pseudo understanding of politics. No, our problems don't have anything to do with the government-mandated, lax lending standards, and certain people's resistance to reversing them. No, Clinton's "success" had nothing to do with a technologically driven economic bonanza - which he taxed the @#$%& out of. You do know that's all a "surplus" is, right? Government coffers, overflowing. It means nothing to the average, working citizen. Unless, of course, you live on the gub'ment dime. And now we don't have an economic boom to fuel our wasteful programs - something "W" did nothing to prevent. Neoconservative =/= Conservative.
