Good call on Ga Tech. I didn't think they had it in them to beat Clemson after their last two losses.

We are getting closer...... any early predictions for this week? Will it be close?
Will someone win by 14 or more? Will there be a rematch?

Two stats that could make a big difference in my opinion are....

1) LSU averages twice as many penalties per game as Alabama.

2) LSU is ranked 117th in red zone defense. Bama is ranked 5th.

There are many more of course (Bama being ranked #1 in every major defensive category), but those are the two that stuck out the most.

Here are the teams that the "GREAT" Bama defense has played and their rank in total offense to date:
Kent St. 120
Penn St 88
North Texas 109
Arkansas 25th
Florida 94
Ol Miss. 115
Tenn. 102

Hell some high school teams in Louisiana could have the #1 total defense with that schedule!!!!!

LSU has played the following teams with the following ranking in total offense to date:

Oregon 5
Northwestern State division 2
Mississippi State 74
West Virgina 13
Kentucky 118
Florida 94
Tenn. 102
Auburn 89

LSU has played 2 offenses in the top 13, 1 as the visitor and 1 on a neutral site, while Bama has just play 1 in the top 25.

And LSU gave up a combined 868 yards and 48 points to those two offenses. In both cases the opposing team had more total offense than LSU. I'll give LSU credit for creating eight turnovers in those two games, but I hope you're not relying on the same happening against Alabama.

By the way, Alabama will be playing against yet another bad offense this week since LSU is ranked 81st in the country. On the other hand, LSU will be playing against a top 25 offense.

As on outsider watching both teams. I think right now Alabama is a better team. However, Bama has not played very strong in the 1st half. If Bama does not play the 1st half they they have played the 2nd half over the past 3 games. LSU may win.

So my pick as of right now is

LSU 24
Bama 21
Re: NCAA FOOTBALL 2011

My pick is Alabama 34 LSU 24. I have seen Alabama play, and If LSU can not stop the run(they haven't played a great running back yet), they are SCREWED.
Re: NCAA FOOTBALL 2011

Florida - 28
Vandy - 10

UK - 27
OLE - 24

ARK - 38
SC - 31

LSU - 28
BAMA - 10

Partially because of the endless parade of linemen we're going to rotate in and out of the game. Partially because of the freaks and haters, but mostly because we're just flat-out better people than you are. Now perk up, you mule-faced genetic afterbirth. We want you to pay attention while we discipline your sorry hides.

I checked. Bama was able to retain its statistical #1 rankings. That statistical national championship should be in the bag. (thumbs up).

Re: NCAA FOOTBALL 2011

Well I doubt any other team could have kept lsu to single digits in scoring and the same goes for Bama.

Them bayou kitties better watch out for Arkansas....

So you are saying a team Bama beat like a drum is a team LSU has to "watch out for"?

So did Bama get lucky to beat the piglets?

Or, are you still under the false impression that Bama is better than LSU?

Bama fan are so funny!!!!!

Since 2000, that the turn of the century for you Bama fans, LSU is 9-3 against dumbo the elephant......

Oklahoma St
Stanford
Boise
Bama (rematch)
Oklahoma
Oregon (rematch)

Who ever earns the right to play in the game. By that I mean you must win you conference! If you can't win your conference you should not play for the NC.

Boise should not get a shot just because they play 1 game a year. They don't have the grind of a big time schedule nor do they have to worry about playing without injured players because they play 1 game a year.

I don't think anyone wants to see Oregon and LSU play again.

Okie St. has the best chance IMO to play in NOLA on 9 Jan.

But as long as LSU is in NOLA come 9 Jan. it's all good!!!!

They will line up and play who ever else is there.

Coin flip, could have gone either way

Sometimes,as are lsu fans

2000? No history before 2000 huh? You might want to look at the series
between the two ALL of it not just the past 10 or 11 years

Also check Bama's record at baton rouge..... from 1969 there was about a 18-20
year span where lsu did not win.....just sayin...
