Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to be close, much less requiring a comeback victory. Mettenberger looked great. It reminded me of our loss to South Carolina in 2009 when Stephen Garcia decided to become an All-American for a game.
That's some crazy stats. In that case, I guess I should've been rooting for LSU to win.
On paper, you're right, but in a one-game scenario, anyone has a shot at anyone else. I call it "the Boise State" concept. Notre Dame benefited from a weak schedule and the lack of having to play an elite opponent in a conference championship game, but they now have a one-game shot at the title. This is another reason that a playoff system should be implemented.
The SEC Championship Game is the reason three SEC teams will never make it to four team playoff. This year is the perfect example. There were three SEC teams in the top four, but Georgia is down to #7 now because of it.
Doesn't matter. BCS rules prohibit more than 2 teams from the same conferencde being in BCS bowls. Even if they were ranked 1.2.3 and 4. It's BS, and has screwed UGA just for making the SECCG. They beat Florida, who gets the Sugar just because they have only one lossv - to UGA. Had Bama lost, they'd be going from the BCS title game to the Capitol one, Cotton or Peach. Bit of a dropoff in money and prestige.
