Props to Danny and Cameron for the best smoked venison I've ever had, and I've had a lot! If you weren't there, you missed out on a very good thing.by Byron Wood - SN Tournament Information
I was griping last week about all the discs I have lost over many years, all with my name and number, and never got a call about any of them. Out of the blue, I got a call yesterday from someone in California saying he found a disc with my name and number on it, at a course I have never played! I haven't even been in California since the tournament stamp on this disc was made! It wasn't worth theby Byron Wood - General Discussion

I was already planning to bring some tools with me Friday, Jeff. Do you have anything specific in mind, or just general clean up?by Byron Wood - General Discussion
I saw the pile of swag while knocking back a few at Gary's house- You do NOT want to miss this one! I tried to get him sloshed enough that he wouldn't notice me walking out with a few discs, but he was too sharp for me.....Guess I'll have to win some.by Byron Wood - General Discussion

There were object courses at both the Millsaps and Belhaven campuses in the late 70's. The Millsaps course was used in the Mississippi State Frisbee Championship, 1977 I think. I am looking forward to playing Bratton-Green.by Byron Wood - General Discussion

Just an all-around great tourney, IMHO. Good people, good course, good food, snow on the ground like all great ice bowls should have, and I only lost one disc! Pat yourself on the back, Billy Baroo!by Byron Wood - General Discussion

Horseshoe Canyon may not be the best I've ever played, but it was certainly the most interesting. The fox that burst out of its lair when I bent down to get my disc almost gave me a heart attack. Goat @#$%& everywhere. A basket atop a rock the size of a house, with steps cut in the back if you were lucky enough to make your approach shot stay on top of the rock. Maybe I'm a little too mellow, but I've played a bunch of SN tourneys, and I've never had anything but a good time. There have been some glitches here and there, for sure, but nothing that rose to the level of name-calling and hard feelings. I've volunteered some time to help TD's, and it's a thankless task, by anyone's measure. We are what we do, and we as the Southern Nationals do discgolf to aby Byron Wood - General Discussion
This is a lot cooler than I was expecting it to be- maybe I'll send in my dues, if PDGA had anything to do with it. Live USDGC coverage is the only benefit I can think of.by Byron Wood - General Discussion
Rules- The first and only one I was ever called on was the "falling putt" rule. I did not demonstrate "balance" after I let go my putter. I complained mightily that nothing I did after the disc had left my hand could possibly be an infraction. Obviously, I was wrong, but it still seems like a stupid rule. For extra points, does anyone know the origin of this silly rule? (I do,by Byron Wood - General Discussion
