If you open a business checking account in the name of an organization, they typically have high monthly service charges, which will eat up the funds of most any "start up" club. Instead, open a personal/DBA checking account & it will cost about $10 or less per month. It is a personal checking account for someone DBA (doing business as) an organization. Last year Detriot & his band of demons lined each basket and each fairway with "glow necklaces." Kinda spooky looking but easily the coolest thing I have seen. Expect equal or better this year. In the early days "the Bogue" only had 18 holes, but the Howler did not have many players. There were 53 players in 1989. In the early 90's when we expanded (attracted) more players, the 2 pools alternated use of the existing 18 holes. That meant that Pool A always finished after dark. At that time the park management would not allow us to set up a Temp course. So as the Howler greby Mark M - SN Tournament Information

<< If "WE" do, then why not just do like the Grand Masters and make it ALL just MASTERS??? with no seperation between Pro & ADV.. >> Grand Masters is a Pro division. Hey B-Hole, is that zahr or czar? Mark A. Mann #5019by Mark M - General Discussion
The real question is how do you narrow the field down to just 12. Don't need "disc golf Jesus" or a Greyhound, there are plenty of attractive ladies in this sport to fill up a calender. BTW, ignore B-Hole, I won't explain why. Put Snap & Jen in Malibu Strings & I'll buy 2. Mark A. Mann #5019by Mark M - General Discussion

Molded plastics contain chemicals which make them more flexible, durable and pliable. They are called "plasticizers," (no kidding) and are typically phosphate or phthalate based. Plasticizers are leached out from the plastc by UV (sunlight) and by heat (re-molding). Unless these compounds are replaced, prior to re-molding, they are present at a lower level than in the original plastiby Mark M - General Discussion

I agree with Pat. If whoever runs the toss isn't paying to play, his entry fee should be deducted from the cash holdout for MAGDA. For those who remember (or even care), I ran the Sunday toss for 3 years, payed my $5 & still collected money for MADGA. This money paid for the food for the Howler cookout so that MADGA did not have to cough up any. Other listening to a lot of complainingby Mark M - General Discussion

I am not complaining for the sake of making noise, I am truely concerned that the 25+ players who just yesterday stated emphatically that they wouldn't play if that was the format. Many of them were the very ones who turned the Howler into the tournament that we know today. Having played in each & every Howler, I've seen the growing pains first hand. Trust me I understand the problem, buby Mark M - General Discussion
The Howler should be at Chickasabogue Park ONLY. The vast majority of players do not want to leave the park. If another course is to be used, we will definately lose players. We will lose many players who have not missed playing in the Howler since the tournaments beginnings. Maybe there are folks who don't remember the numerous problems that occurred when the Howler was played on two differeby Mark M - General Discussion
There are groups of regular players at each of the courses. You should be able to find a game at any of them, simply by asking. Maybe even without gambling. The bogue changed at the hands of Ivan (04) and Katrina (05) but only minor. There is much less underbrush near the fairways, a few trees missing and 2 trees leaning on #16. Chickasaw is usually in a state of flux, but rest assured, it will be beautiful. MAMby Mark M - General Discussion
Chris, to reiterate my previous commitment. I'll be working sign-up Friday night 6-9, bartending Saturday @ Players Party (with C. Fox) and cooking hundreds o' burgers Sunday @ the Bogue (also with C. Fox). I have everything needed for the cookout, except drinks. Markby Mark M - General Discussion
Saraswati, Mobile used to have a "brew-pub" but due to mis-management, it folded for the 2nd time. Unfortunately, due to Alabama's archaic liquer laws, most crafted beers aren't available, either. We do, however, have most any flavor of swill you can think of as long as it is below 5.5% and packaged in 16 oz or less. Free The Hops!
