I have several now. I am currently throwing the ibex and obex and love them, I also have an ascent that isn't getting thrown much. I have some soft and some medium. I agree, alot like a roc/buzz but far more forgiving if I over throw it. I am currently looking for a used lace and track to finish the all vibram bag. Good stuff so far. I'm certainly jealous of your Dad. I would move there tomorrow if the wife would go. I agree on the statements about the course, front 9 awesome, back 9 a little bland but not terrible. Many courses are like that though. You just run of cool terrain to play on. I think the biggest example of that is in Tishimingo State Park, one of the best front 9's ever, back 9 is very bland. Gulf Breeze is my staple for P'cola Beach. It is 10 minutes from the beach and plays pretty quick. Great course too. It was in disarray last summer, glad to hear it is back up and running minus the one hole. You from that area Bluff? As the original designer of this course, I agree with the potential that this course has. I have stressed since the day we started it that if they would focus on getting the pads(ams/pros)concreted and signed it would be one of the best courses in N. Alabama. You won't get any shoe company to honor a warranty on a 2 year old shoe I wouldn't think. That is the reason Timberland pulled their warranty and started making cheaper shoes. Years ago Timberland was some of the best shoes you could buy with a great warrantly but folks tearing them up on purpose or cashing in on a old shoe(with reasonable wear) put them out of the business of making good shoes wby AmoryBulldog - General Discussion

Best solution, certainly not the easiest, is carpet tees. No wear on the shoes and great grip usually regardless on conditions. I wear Merrells but they shred pretty easy. Vibram sole is good for feet and back.by AmoryBulldog - General Discussion

I concur. Great job by Robbie and Cassie Harris as lead organizers for this event. It was well run. Hats off to all the assistant TD's and the helpers as well as the boyscouts for their spotting and disc retrieval services at Trace. Traffic jams abounded all weekend but that is to be expected with such a great turnout. I was unable to stay for awards but the prizes and trophies looked awesome. Not sure if Tupelo is getting the rain we are in Amory/Aberdeen. If we can expect storms dropping rain off and on all week we are all going to need cleats to play BB2. I played it Monday afternoon in the hottest part of the day and still slipped in slick mud on two holes. The rain and humidity will make that course super slick. For those interested I have asked and received permission to do Sunday morning devotional/prayer for those interested in attending. It will be for Pool B at the same pavillion for the player's meeting at 8:00 am and should finish up in time for some warmup prior to player's meeting. Hole # 7 at Lake Lowndes with a beat up Ching Bomb. Don't remember the date, still have the disc. 3 witnesses. Favorite ace was #5 (now it is #10) at Panther Prowl in Amory, nephew witnessed it. You don't have to have a built in camera to take a pic of a computer screen. Use the cntrl-print screen(top right of your keyboard by the scroll lock button) button combination to copy your computer screen and then paste into a word document or a photo software so you can edit it. I opted for Butts first and cut my round to the front 9 only. It was very wet from the dew and the grass was pretty tall, they were mowing so it should be in great shape by the weekend. Very long 9 holes with a lot of walking between holes. To me that kind of kills the momentum. I think this could potentially be a great course with some work. Lost Discs at Johnson Rd. Park - 1 year ago
Lost 2 discs last Friday if anyone happens upon them. One is a star mis-stamp with Aero stamp on it twice, it is white. Lost it in the fence in the lake on hole 7 I think it was. Has my name and number on the rim. The second one was a elite z Force, florescent green with purple stamp. I lost it in the woods at the end of the fairway on hole 11. If you love playing barefoot, and I know a few that do, I would suggest Vibram Five Fingers("toe shoes"). I have a pair and might as well be playing barefoot when I wear them. I would however suggest the ones with a little more tread than those that have the natural shaped sole. The ones without tread are very thin and you can feel everything you step on. I happen to agree that you don't have to be religious to be a good person. Curious where you think that inherent "good" moral code comes from. Many (to say most) species in the animal kingdom don't exhibit those traits. We seem to have it genetically, even the worst of men still feels some remorse for certain things. Buccaneer is being rebuilt but is in shambles in my opinion and certainly not worth the drive from New Orleans. Unless you are just planning that because of the beach. I played there in February and luckily found some locals to show me around. I like the course but it is in disarray and at that time didn't have a basket for 18. This place is kind of expensive but still a lot cheaper than a hotel. It's also a beautiful place. I think about 45 minutes north, maybe closer. Bankhead is about an hour away. Camping mecca, very nice. Great hiking too. It is north of Doublesprings, AL. Great way to spend the Sunday before heading back. Thanks guys for all the input. I didn't realize how close to Wildcat I will be. I think my mind is made up. Of course what time I get out of work will greatly influence which course I go to. I lived in Fairhope for 18 months an it was there I learned to play so I have played all the Mobile courses. I would love to play City Park in NOLA but that is a bit of a drive for this trip. Hey guys, Need some feedback. I might, still not sure, have to be in Gulfport, MS in a couple weeks and was wondering if you had to choose which course would you play in the area.
