Jack, I think the oldsters have learned to listen more and talk less. Hard to add to what's been said. Where else can you play where they are so accommodating that they spray for bugs twice before the rounds start? The course was pristine and the people were fun. No bag kicking, screaming or stretching the rules. They even set the night-time temp outside to be cool and comfortable. It was aby pfeifer - SN Tournament Information
DOUG! Congrats on the win! It must be a little uncomfortable having a nose right there. You should have the best overall score. They didn't let the GM group play from the longs last year.by pfeifer - SN Tournament Information
My point exactly. YOU beat me and I almost threw my bag in the lake and quit forever. But that's how good (or bad) I was that day. That just helped my resolve to practice more and to be more consistent no matter what. The first year I played the Howler I beat you by 20 and I remember you said I'm never going to play pro again, but you did and look what happened. Go play in the bigs and learn.by pfeifer - SN Tournament Information
"Can't wait to turn 50 because those guys have a huge field these days." Then you just have a bunch of 50-60 yr olds kicking you around. Here's a thought. Tell yourself that on any given day that you can beat anybody and go do it. Your unfortunate attitude hinders progress in the land of AFL.by pfeifer - SN Tournament Information
Lost a disc at Municipal, Al on the "dam" hole. Justin got in the nasty water and found c5 discs and gave them all to the owners. Never found my lime-green Echo Destroyer. Got a call from Jessie from Univ. SA saying that he has my disc. I tell him to send it and I'll send him postage and a good disc (I always trade a decent disc if I get back one of my "throwers"). He cby pfeifer - General Discussion
I had a Gateway backpack which fell apart with very little use. Met Mr. Gateway at the Memphis SNPC. He pointed out my bag and I told him I had to sew the straps on three times and every pocket was falling apart. He looked at it for a second and said "Looks like you got an old one" and walked away. This was in a small crowd. I said "that's your best answer"? If you hby pfeifer - General Discussion
Tony, Thanks so much for running another great tournament. Perfect weather, great day.by pfeifer - General Discussion
Thanks for putting on the show Lloyd and the entire crew. Nice event and perfect weather. Got to watch people throw great shots. Played some herd golf with cool discers. Brent's drive bounced off the basket on 13 the first round. Heard a couple of aces. Had to split early due to a commitment. Thanks to Connor for swimming on 18 retrieving players' discs and spotting. Fun course. Good birdie holes (with trouble). Little bit of elevation change. Hole 1 finishes on the edge of a heavy drop-off (right side). Hole 3 has some girders that you have to negotiate. Hole 7 long is definitely a challenge. Anything but an exact throw leaves no real next shot with a tendency to throw left away from the river (flows fast). It also drops off and finishes down the acceby pfeifer - General Discussion

Why do the trophies look like Bart Simpsons head? Tom II is pretty amazing and right now is probably my favorite in the region. It has ops for twos and sevens. The holes are all fair. Some of the holes finish on a drastic downhill lie. There's only one hole that you have to rely more on luck than skill (you decide).by pfeifer - General Discussion

Nice job overall on this event. Right down to the smallest detail. The format was great. Got a taste of the #2 course during the second round. Nice touch. I was looking forward to playing the entire #2 course. If you like long, tough and elevation change, you want to try course 2 at Tombigbee (it needs a real name). Thanks again to all that helped with this one. I'd play it again. (I tby pfeifer - General Discussion

The Rocs are sold to fund the USDGC so this seems like a good place to post some tournament info. This is a segment of the official announcement recently released... ===================== In recognition of the growth of disc golf around the globe, we have decided to move the USDGC to a biennial schedule. Effective immediately, the USDGC will alternate years with Europe’s major event â€by pfeifer - General Discussion
Of the 5 Rocs available, 4 are at $510.00 and 1 at $629.00. Interesting thing is that the same bidder has the high bid on all of them right now.by pfeifer - General Discussion

Just a bit of info. for inquiring minds. An earned USDGC spot has to be used by the person that won it. A spot can't be passed on to the next guy (even if they know immediately they can't participate). If someone refuses a spot it goes back to the tournament and they use it as they see fit. 100% of the people that are familiar (that I know) with the tournament do not agree with it butby pfeifer - General Discussion
Bass & Gurthie tied for the last USDGC spot last year and decided there was no need to play off for the spot because Bass could use the Ms spot. Ms spot should not have been part of the equation. I hope Memphis has this one under control for 2010. Best final round, highest rated player, playoff for the spot. Pick one. I've never been to a major where the ties were not played off.by pfeifer - General Discussion
My brother and I did this at Emerald Isle in Ca. It was tough. Everything that was fair for the ball golfer (greens/bunkers) is OB for the disc golfer. When my brother isn't working, he plays ball golf (like a sickness) so he's got a pretty good game. First time on the disc golf course so it took me a while to get going but I got him on the last few holes. If we switched games he would probaby pfeifer - General Discussion
From the Yeti Road Report 2006 at USDGC... Probably the best qualifying story I heard would have been that of Dean Pfeifer from Maryland. Dean was starring down at the newly opened up 18th green with a scary putt. After watching Valerie Jenkin’s putt role down past the basket and almost out of bounds the group advised Dean to lay up as his layup score of 70 should be good enough to qualify hby pfeifer - General Discussion

Feldberg knows the rules. Walking ahead of the person that should be taking their shot is a courtesy violation. Happens a lot but seldom called. Seems that the person that verified the shot was also in vioation. If he wasn't sure of his shot location he could have thrown a provisional from the drop zone and then checked his disc when the group moved forward. I've played about 25 Ice Bowls in ten years of playing disc. My favorite used to be at Rockburn. It was always in snow and there was a huge Chile competition. RIB is so much better (I don't miss the snow but I do miss the Chile). Always impressed by the nomads. So far, I can't get myself to drive for 3+ hours for a one-dayer.
