I don't play many tournaments these days, but when I consider playing one, I will look at the history of the grandmaster division. I might consider masters, depending on the courses, but won't play open. It would be OK to play open or masters and get PGM points. Then again, I play so few tournaments it really doesn't matter to me. As far as making grandmasters 60 plus, I thought the SN mirrore

I missed this one last year because it was the same weekend as Bonnaroo. This year, it's the week before Bonnaroo and the front end of my vacation, so I might have to make the trip. I've missed playing the Hill the past few year and will likely miss the Dogwood this year again because we're hitting the Beale St. Music Fest all three days. Like the entry and the included lunch! So is this event

Sorry to drift the thread, but are any grandmasters coming? I thought this was a Tish tournament thread, not another "The SN should be like the PDGA" thread of a debate of the virtues of various doubles formats. With the forecast for rain being 100 percent tomorrow, I'm about 45 percent on this one.

And invariably, the TD will have cashing players demanding their winnings while he's trying to make sure everything is correct. And invariably, said interruptions will cause errors that people will point out on public message boards. rWc P.S. I regret not showing up and making the MPG a foursome.

Exactly, Gary I know you've ran plenty of events and a few where the weather was abysmal ( I was at a couple of them). I also know how much work Bill puts into his events and and how much legwork is involved before game day. I don't think those sponsors came to Bill. just sayin' rWc3523

Exactly why I no longer run tournaments. Weather has a way of ruining your best laid plans, especially when large numbers of players quit due to the weather and fail to notify the TD. Not to mention, the folks who always know more than the TD. Every "armchair TD" should experience the fun of running an event, and not just one where you have beautiful weather, but run one where the weath

I don't play many tournaments anymore, but when I do, I try to hit the ones that normally have at least three or four PGMs. NO reason to spend a boatload of money to travel and donate. rWc3523

Jack, I agree, but it's probably because most of the people who attended the tournament don't come here. I hated I could not play. The courses looked better than they have in a long, long time. You and James and whoever else helped out did a great job. rWc3523

I heard through the grapevine that Tyler Harbin won Open; Dean Tannock won Grandmaster; Chad Sweet won Advanced over his brother, Brad (who had an ace on #16 at Veterans and WAS in the ace pot): Adam Looney won Intermediate; Kevin Boatwright won Advanced Grandmaster and Kathy Johnson won Am Women. Not sure who won the other divisions. Don't remember who it was, but there was an ace at McFarland

Any Pro Grandmasters or Pro Masters making this event? Looks like I'll be able to get off Saturday. Sounds like Jack, Bill, Jody and others have been busy. Courses should be in great shape, as usual. Could be muddy with rain in the forecast this week, but Saturday should be clear. rWc3523
