I don't play many tournaments these days, but when I consider playing one, I will look at the history of the grandmaster division. I might consider masters, depending on the courses, but won't play open. It would be OK to play open or masters and get PGM points. Then again, I play so few tournaments it really doesn't matter to me. As far as making grandmasters 60 plus, I thought the SN mirroreby Russ3523 - General Discussion
I missed this one last year because it was the same weekend as Bonnaroo. This year, it's the week before Bonnaroo and the front end of my vacation, so I might have to make the trip. I've missed playing the Hill the past few year and will likely miss the Dogwood this year again because we're hitting the Beale St. Music Fest all three days. Like the entry and the included lunch! So is this eventby Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
Sorry to drift the thread, but are any grandmasters coming? I thought this was a Tish tournament thread, not another "The SN should be like the PDGA" thread of a debate of the virtues of various doubles formats. With the forecast for rain being 100 percent tomorrow, I'm about 45 percent on this one.by Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
All this complaining and the tournament is four weeks away. Unreal.by Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
I hated to hear this. I had the pleasure of meeting Bobby and he was a very cool guy. He was a very unique person. rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
Hartselle SNAC players' pack was great. And James Burton is right, the Bowling Green Ams players' pack is always a winner! rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion

And invariably, the TD will have cashing players demanding their winnings while he's trying to make sure everything is correct. And invariably, said interruptions will cause errors that people will point out on public message boards. rWc P.S. Exactly, Gary I know you've ran plenty of events and a few where the weather was abysmal ( I was at a couple of them). I also know how much work Bill puts into his events and and how much legwork is involved before game day. I don't think those sponsors came to Bill. just sayin' rWc3523by Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
I think James Lecy would be a good addition.by Russ3523 - General Discussion
Exactly why I no longer run tournaments. Weather has a way of ruining your best laid plans, especially when large numbers of players quit due to the weather and fail to notify the TD. Not to mention, the folks who always know more than the TD. Every "armchair TD" should experience the fun of running an event, and not just one where you have beautiful weather, but run one where the weathby Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
Did I miss the Saturday sign up/players' meeting times?by Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
I'm on the fence on this one. I just spent a week out of town. Are there any GRANDmasters planning on attending? russ3523by Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
Get well soon, Jim-O. Good vibes your way!! rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
I don't play many tournaments anymore, but when I do, I try to hit the ones that normally have at least three or four PGMs. NO reason to spend a boatload of money to travel and donate. rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
Jack, I agree, but it's probably because most of the people who attended the tournament don't come here. I hated I could not play. The courses looked better than they have in a long, long time. You and James and whoever else helped out did a great job. rWc3523by Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information
I heard through the grapevine that Tyler Harbin won Open; Dean Tannock won Grandmaster; Chad Sweet won Advanced over his brother, Brad (who had an ace on #16 at Veterans and WAS in the ace pot): Adam Looney won Intermediate; Kevin Boatwright won Advanced Grandmaster and Kathy Johnson won Am Women. Not sure who won the other divisions. Don't remember who it was, but there was an ace at McFarlandby Russ3523 - SN Tournament Information

Hope the weather's holding out. Had one tornado warning already in the Shoals and some wind and hail. Will and I will be up in the morning. I'll most likely play Pro G-Master and Will in Advanced. Watch the weather! rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
Remind me again Saturday morning! ;-) Looking forward to this one. Always love playing at Tish. rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
Condolences to his family from us. I remember Tim from the old days. And he was only 46? Much to young. rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
Cool. Could be they're not yet 60 or turning 60 this year. Thought I read where a few of the g'masters were closer to the big six-oh! Will and I should be there. Nice work on the sponsorship!by Russ3523 - General Discussion
I've been hearing a lot of the older grandmasters are moving up to the senior grandmaster division.by Russ3523 - General Discussion

Any Pro Grandmasters or Pro Masters making this event? Looks like I'll be able to get off Saturday. Sounds like Jack, Bill, Jody and others have been busy. Courses should be in great shape, as usual. Could be muddy with rain in the forecast this week, but Saturday should be clear. rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
Right now I have to work that Saturday. Have to work on getting off. Hope I can come. rWc3523by Russ3523 - General Discussion
