Yet another awesome tournament put on by The JUDGES... Thanks to Lloyd and all others who helped out.by noahat - SN Tournament Information
Me and my AM doubles partner will be there rain or shine. Weather is looking good early in the day, and worse tomorrow night, so we may get through this thing dry. This also means a free victory for anyone else playing AMs, as DFL isn't out of the question for us.by noahat - SN Tournament Information
What are the different events on the tour?by noahat - SN Tournament Information
I have an idea... Stop telling Hogman how to run his tournament. He has put on an amazing tournament, and really doesn't need new ideas about how it should be run. You wouldn't tell a writer how they need to write, or a painter how they need to paint. Just stand aside and let him work his magic. The best thing you can do for Hogman is sign up as a volunteer, or get your team signed up as sby noahat - SN Tournament Information
Thank you very much Jabba. I think I won it at the first Ice Bowl at Morton, so that makes sense.by noahat - General Discussion
Can you tell me what disc this is? It looks like a Viper to me, but I'm not positive. Since it could be very old, it may be something that isn't made anymore.. There is no identification on the back, just weight which is 181.by noahat - General Discussion

I don't believe he should have to give back his winnings. That is definitely not my intention, nor is it my intention to call anyone out specifically. It's the system that is the problem. I doubt he even realized he was breaking the rules. Also, the way things are, it is next to impossible for the TD catch something like this. Like Discjazz said, first we need to establish a clear set of rby noahat - General Discussion
Cody, your logic is clearly flawed. I did not play in the tournament. I just don't like seeing people getting pushed around. It may not be a high number of baggers, but it really only takes 1 or 2 per tournament to screw up the field. Chad has it right. I play Intermediate, and I am all for taking money away from Intermediate and move more of it to Advanced and Pro. To me, this is the besby noahat - General Discussion
So it sounds like the majority of people agree that he should not have been eligible to play in Intermediate. So the Intermediate winner was likely illegal in the Southern National Doubles Championship. Most people still don't think (or won't admit) that there is a major bagging issue in the Intermediate division... whether people even realize they are bagging or not. Codys statement is a perfby noahat - General Discussion
I admittedly don't know the rules well, and trying to figure out the SN rules is like trying to solve a Jenga Crossword Rubix Cube. Below are the last 6 tournaments played by Kirk Mansell, with the final tournament being the SNDC. Based on the new rules, it seems like Kirk should not have been allowed to play in Intermediate in the SNDC. The old rules said 6 months without cashing, which wouby noahat - General Discussion
Hole 4 at Roosevelt State Park (Moccasin Bend DGC) in Morton MS during the first annual Ice Bowl. Star Wraith. The whole "fairway" is water. Luckily, it was a CTP for all divisions... of course the ace pot too. I was high fiving and hugging people I had met just an hour before that. Picture of hole 4by noahat - General Discussion
I agree with jtolbert. I would love to play in this style event. Discjazz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Are there Am players who would refuse to attend an > event run this way? Would those against it be > baggers?by noahat - General Discussion
Any player who plays 4 Adv events and doesn't cash can always move back down. These players aren't an issue. If you aren't placing in Adv in the current state of things, you aren't the kind of bagger I'm talking about in Am. The baggers in Am I'm talking about would be frequently placing in Adv, and probably some Pro too. Also, I meant: if you win the SNACs Am, you couldn't play the SNACsby noahat - General Discussion
I think discjazz's solution is a good one too... But to get back to Erics statement: "So what keep a player in playing one event in Am, then moving up and playing the rest of the year in Adv. Only to move back down in the SNAC and destroy the AM field." I see your point, but I think it is easily solved. I think bagging in the SNACs is quite minor compared to bagging the whole seasonby noahat - General Discussion
I disagree with you Cody. Just because someone is trying to win the Am championship, doesn't exempt them from bagging. These are the main baggers I'm talking about. These are the people who refuse to move up who are clearly not Ams anymore. That's why I say let people play in the SNACs and SNPCs if you have points in either.by noahat - General Discussion
I agree with Cody, flights don't help anything... At least in golf, I know people perform poorly in the first round on purpose. To answer Dustin, because I was asked to yet again.by noahat - General Discussion
Again, I don't see the point in calling out individuals. Individuals bagging is a limited time thing. Even if we convince 1 person to move up, there's still a major issue that isn't solved.by noahat - General Discussion
I am not suggesting adopting the PDGA rating system. I don't believe the PDGA rules and player classifications can be directly applied to the SN players. I can provide actual examples of cases where a pro caliber player has been playing am, but I will not. In the past, individuals have been called out for bagging, but to no avail, and I will not do that again here.by noahat - General Discussion
Suggesting ways to stop bagging is off topic, but I'll take the bait... One way to help the situation is the way you mentioned... A ratings system that forces players to move up. This topic has been thrown around, and has many pros and cons. I think this solution would put an end to the major "baggers", which is the ones I'm talking about. Someone who could consistently place in pby noahat - General Discussion
I really appreciate most peoples dialog on this topic with me. I agree with most of what people are saying to me. However, if people have been trying for years to get something changed, and no progress appears to be made, then perhaps it's time for a new approach. That's what I'm attempting to do. As far as being a TD myself... I was co-TD once at the first annual tomato toss at Crystal Sby noahat - General Discussion
I agree with everything you are saying lmeyers. To answer your question, I'll just quote you... "what options are left?". I don't think it's fair to say: it's not okay to do this to Novice players, but it's okay to do it to Ams. The new rules that I was just shown clearly indicate that the board wanted these actions to be stopped in the Novice group, but they have done nothing toby noahat - General Discussion
You're right, I do want attention. I want people to know what I am going to do. I want people to know that it is not okay to play down in a division. I want someone to stop me. I am going against what I believe is right and just, in hopes that we can finally put restrictions in place to prevent people from playing down. The idea of me playing in Novice really seems to bother people, but moby noahat - General Discussion
Imeyers, I agree when you say, "that just doesn't seem right". I have admitted this already. I am not saying I am doing the right thing. I want to play in tournaments. Nothing is being done to make obvious baggers move out of the Am division. If it's okay to bag in Am division, then why isn't it okay to do it in Novice? How was there a rule set up to stop bagging in Novice, butby noahat - General Discussion
Is this kept in your secret handbook? The handbook on this website has nothing about that. http://www.sndg.org/snhandbook.htmlby noahat - General Discussion
Or, I could just play Novice. I do practice, and play to get better. Trying to have fun is more important than this though. Tournaments are about having fun, and competing. I'm trying to say that the competing part isn't happening much in the Am division like it should. Nothing is being done to fix it. In the Pro division, most players could win when their division when play their bestby noahat - General Discussion
Dillon, your proposal is what I've been doing. You're telling me this as if I haven't already been doing this, or as if I think it's okay to "bag". I already said that bagging is lame. Nobody will fix it though, and I am not breaking any rules. Yes, I would rather beat Ams than Novice players, but more so I would like the chance to compete for a win once. And even more, I wouldby noahat - General Discussion
Good point Ricco... "Then what?" I see what you're saying... What is this really going to solve? I think the answer is likely to be nothing at all, but I'll just have to see. What I really want is for everybody to play the division they're supposed to play in. This isn't happening though. I don't really care that much about the plastic. I have more than I know what to do withby noahat - General Discussion
tmad, I play the toughest of courses. I have played every course in the Jackson MS area plus many others, many times. I am not making excuses. I'll openly admit that I'm not very good, and that's why I don't win, but it isn't because I haven't tried to get better. I stopped playing for a long time because I got so burned out of trying everything to get better, and still never being able toby noahat - General Discussion
