Finally a good weekend for golf, although very windy. So in three consecutive weekends we have had: Snow, Rain, now Wind. Do I dare ask what is next? 100 Opening discs were waiting for me today. Each reads "I was one of the first to play in Heaven" They will be available in the clubhouse starting opening day, March 23 at 10:00 am. Here is an update from Disc Side of Heaven. 34 of the 37 baskets were installed over the weekend and the last three will go in this weekend. Still on track for March 23 Opening.

Memberships will last from time of purchase until the next Spring Break (Arkansas State University). i.e. If you buy a membership in May, it will be good until March of 2014. Right now the plan is to not open every weekend between Thanksgiving and Spring Break, just on the weekends (or days) during that time when the weather is decent. It will be either 5 or 6 bucks per 18 holes and either 9 or 10 for all day play. Still factoring in all the taxes and fees I have to pay. There will also be memberships available, they will fall between $50 and $65. Kids 12 and under will always be free. Here is just one of the shots from the Rec Course. As of yesterday, Feb 18, 37 Brand New Pro-28 baskets arrived in Jonesboro and are set to go in the ground over the next two weeks! My apologies... I jumped the gun on the $200 Skins Match. Due to: 1: The number of participants we are expecting 2: The GREAT Ring of Fire after the last card is turned in 3: The fact that it will get dark much quicker on October 6 We believe we would not have enough daylight to do the Sknis match after everything was over, so the Skins Match has been scratched.

This is a great weekend to plan a trip! Friday night at the ASU Convocation Center at 7:00 is the Johnny Cash Music Festival with Dirks Bentley and Willie Nelson. I think you are on to something here. I too agree we could do more to promote SN. I think one of the biggest challenges we face is the size of the SN area. We cover a lot of miles from east to west and it would be very difficult to get a players to compete in 6-to-10 events over the year. BUT, I do think where there is a will, there is a way. Pietz

Okay all you dreamers out there. IF you were able to build your ideal hole, your ideal course, your pipe dream of the BEST DISC GOLF COURSE EVER, what would you want on it. (Let's just all assume we would want waitresses from a national chain that has a owl as a logo bringing us a cold beverage on every other hole and stick to course design and course amenities)

Robby- Even though the park itself is HUGE, we have a small area that we can use. #10 and #12 new new pin placements have stretched the course out a little, but nothing dramatic by any means.
