As a td I, I approach players packs as follows: pros usually prefer cash to players packs, so if ams get a disc and shirt it comes out of am entry fees. Many charge $25 but even at $20 you have a few bucks left over, which goes back into am payout. So basically the winners in am give about half of their potential pay out back to the other 60% of their division who win nothing. It is nice to havby DD0710 - General Discussion
As a player, I always look at what percentage of total entry fees (minus sn fees) per division is paid out including cash and prizes ( at retail value). If a td doesn't get enough sposorship to cover overhead ( park fees, insurance, trophies, printing, etc.) then obviuosly that money has to come out of entry fees. If a td doesn't get enough sponsorship money to cover overhead cost, it is usuallby DD0710 - General Discussion

Any pro masters players planning on going to Crown Point, Indiana? If so have you received Invitation?by DD0710 - General Discussion
When Jim O started SN pdga headquarters was in toronto. Most big tournaments including worlds were in the northeast and out west. Most pdga members from this area didnt attend world championships so of all those pdga fees we paid very little of it ever came back. So Jim started SN as a way to have a championship that would keep our money closer to home and allow more players from the south to attby DD0710 - General Discussion

Two minute warning: competition manual section 1.5 b 1. Conrad Damon indicated on his web site that practice throws would be allowed after 2min warning. However according to rules first practice shot after 2 mn warn receives a warning, stroke there after. 1 meter rule from ob hasnt changed n the last 20 years I've been playing. Two basic types of td's are hard line logistics and soft. Hard liners stick to their schedule at almost all cost and tend to favor entry caps and early time limits on registration. Three of my favorite td's fall into this category: mike k, willy w, bernie s. If you run several big tournaments a year you probably need to fall into this category because your logistics need to be tightly organized tby DD0710 - SN Tournament Information

When you create artificial ob(ie line painted on ground) it is not only there to depict natural ob( ie water) but to increase difficulty while decreasing ambiguity. Once the line is put in place, the water doesnt really matter anymore because it no longer defines ob, the line does. Sometimes we put ob lines 1' sometimes 4' sometimes 50' away from the natural ob but it is never an accident or uninby DD0710 - General Discussion

Bernie is definately what u said b-hole. That's part of why he is my favorite doubles partner ever. Few people can stand to put up with my mouth, but both of us in the same group... takes a really tough mental game to not get worked.by DD0710 - SN Tournament Information

Eventually sn tds will have an accessable data base (spread sheet) to handle tounament sign ups, scoring, payout and ratings. At that point there will be no extra work involved to compute ratings so extra $ will be a moot point. Paper work can be significantly reduced, posting will be a click away, and payouts will become uniform among our tounaments. At chris pierce's tourneys you know your raby DD0710 - General Discussion
SN could offer a ratings format and leave it up to TDs whether or not they inforce it (with prior notice) at their tournament. Why dive into something when we have plenty of opportunities to test the waters.by DD0710 - General Discussion
Hole 5 muni gold was painted last minute. Just went with the cut grass line. After the rain it was pretty mucky in most of that ob area. The main reason we painted that line was to avoid the issue of lost disc vs. OB disc, not to make it harder though I'm sure it did. Another way to look at it is what if there was no water on hole 5? Would the line be in the wrong place then? Sorry if anybodyby DD0710 - SN Tournament Information

There are many forums filled with hundreds of post devoted to the 1st or 2nd annual debate. There are logical arguments for both. News paper editors, copy editors, English proffessors traditionally use 1st annual for the second event. Since we started with inaugural, I would use 1st annual.by DD0710 - SN Tournament Information

Correct hobbit. There are several thousand disc golfers in Mobile ( jim o estimates that its as much as 5000). We have tosses (daily tournaments either ace toss or doubles) 8-9 times a week with over $100 dollars n the pot on average. Every time there is a tournament some where else there is still a toss in mobile. It is every day, twice on Saturdays and Sundays. Nothing to do with T B in particuby DD0710 - General Discussion
