I cannot play MA2 Jabba, it is against the rules. Yes I was debating on playing Open. Jeff beat me last time we paired off together. I want a rematch.by straightflight - General Discussion
That settles it, I will play advanced. Only to deny Chris J. the chance at an MA1 victory. It will be just like the Christmas Classic.by straightflight - General Discussion

Terry, I am a Pro-Discgolfer. The reasons the PDGA went to designate the PDGA discussion boards as posting by members only was due to the fact that a few non-members, dispite formalized requests and banishment, were defaming the PDGA on the PDGA forums. This is a far cry from posting information about non-SN tournaments on these forums. Also, there are no rules stipulating that youby straightflight - SN Board of Directors
I am in agreement. Right now the discussion board is a free form of advertisement (or until Brian gets tired of running it). And realistically, the BOD could decide that only SN events can be discussed. If that was so the case, then perhaps other events and similar topics could be posted elsewhere in the forums. It would be kinda like, you can get some free advertisement, but if you waby straightflight - SN Board of Directors
Judy, I was merely restating and supporting the idea. I was not trying to steal credit.by straightflight - SN Board of Directors
Read the rules determining the nomination posted on Discgolfbirmingham.com The $$ for the State rep is not rewarded until the USDGC deadline for submitting state reps. At the tournament, the nomination will have no cash value, it will be considered an ancillary prize, therefore Am's can win it. Once the nominee is officially named, the check prewrote for the USDGC will be sent to the apprby straightflight - General Discussion
I imagine that Jeff is specifically speaking about my tournament. While there is no official determination of whether or not this event will be sanctioned as a SN Qualifier or not, I have recieved resistance from people playing in this tournament not to make it SN. Why? Soley for the reason that this tournament is designated to maximize payout. You argue (but Kris are you not making thisby straightflight - SN Board of Directors
Thanks Russ. I relish this section of the discussion board. Where I can ask questions like this and not be berated by insults and incoherent internet babble. Again, I disclaim that I am no way shape or form speaking ill, I just want fairness instituted with the functioning of Southern National events. It does not seem right that in one area you can legally and essentially cheat accordingby straightflight - SN Board of Directors
We will do what is best for the players of the tournament. These are the people that are affected the most by monetary decisions we have to make. There responces and wishes will be the most heavily weighted.by straightflight - General Discussion

I intend on running a professional event (albeit not all players are classified professional), the behavior that Mike Kernan portrayed is unprofessional in my opinion and would tarnish the event. I stated that it was a warning. A warning is something that is given before a penalty. So, that means if Mike Kernan refrains from remarks which constituted the warning, he is allowed to compete witby straightflight - General Discussion
Jabba, Griff, Zach, and Zinger; I really do not know what to tell you the motivation for you to come to this event is. 1) a cash payout, 2) rated rounds if you are a PDGA member, 3) challenging course, 4) comradely Yes the real incentive is for Alabama players. So why should you come? I don't know, I guess you might want to see friends here in town, play a challenging course, (say your bby straightflight - General Discussion

Bob, Please reply to the email I sent you and we can talk about sanctioning levels. I paid the PDGA sanctioning fee because that was a fixed cost $50 for C-tier, however the $2 per player fee is a variable cost, and I cannot afford that if we fill the event with 72 players. I would love to see this event fill up. That would mean a better payout, and who does not love that. Of courseby straightflight - General Discussion
I look forward to seeing you there Eddie, That is an interesting idea TK. I think something like that would be up to the SN board. I am fine with and idea like TK's. It is not the sanctioning I have the reservations about, it is the extra $ per player. I am already making the players eat $2 off the bat. I would hate to make them eat another $2. I am definately open to ideas. Anyoby straightflight - General Discussion
Please read what I say, I never said I "did not want it SN sanctioned". I agrued against SN sanctioning due to the type of value it added compared to the intention of the event. I am posting info for my tournament on this website because it reaches the broadest audience in the Alabama area. I am not against SN sanctioning. I want to make sure that every dollar spent on thisby straightflight - General Discussion
Yes you are right Mikey, I am not paying for SN sanctioning. Either a sponsor would or the players would eat the cost on that. They are already taking the hit on one sanctioning body, why make it two? I never told Bob that he could not sponsor SN fees. I presented arguments to the contrary of the additional sanctioning, and finished with a suggestion that I felt would better benefit tby straightflight - General Discussion
From the players standpoint, what would the benefit of sanctioning this event as a SN Qualifier? - The incentive for this event is the payout (ancilliary prize), more money going to fees = less money going to the players. - I did donate the the PDGA sanctioning fee to give current PDGA players round ratings for the event, player fee for a C-tier is $2/player. The $2 for the SN fees really dby straightflight - General Discussion
Candy, I did not know that was a new rule??? But when ever taking casual relief you were always required to take a position that was on the line of play directly behind the previous lie. I think it is no more then 5 or 15 meters allowed for casual relief. But the line of play has never been curved or bent, always straight. The only differnce this year from last is the fact that your suppby straightflight - General Discussion
Exactly Judy, A puddle is standing water. If you would say that standing water is OB, then our entire #4 fairway at George Ward would be OB after everytime it rains. Unless you are running a professional tournament you really do not want to penalize any shots other then bad shots. Mediocre golf is the way of us amateurs, if we were punished for more then our +par scores, thenby straightflight - General Discussion
Of course I was just being a smart @$$. Honestly, if it was not an official pond or stream, and was only seasonalby there, I would play it as casual. However, it would add additional challenge to the course to make it OB. Considering it is a D-tier and you are likely interested in increasing tournament turnout and raising money for charity, I would make the puddle casual.by straightflight - General Discussion
