Robbie asked me to post a photo of the trophy cases I'm building and donating as additional prizes to the Open Men and Pro Women's division winners. Two samples of my work are below. The cases are 100% Oak, with doors that tilt up and slide back into the case. The sections are stackable, with a separate base and cap. This make transporting them doable for the winner. A theoretical question came up in discussion today. Per the $2 mulligan off the Tee, $3 for all others, and $5 birdie anytime... If a player shanks his tee and calls for a mulligan for $2, then shanks his mulligan, can he buy a birdie for an additional $3 (2+3=5), or should he pay for the mulligan ($2) he called, plus ($5) for the birdie? I think a birdie-buy in this situation would be $by Randy - General Discussion
Mixed-Doubles Division this year! Randy and Mandy Sharp are adding more than $100 in discs and DG prizes to the payout of this division. Who's in?by Randy - General Discussion
Electronics may be a viable option, though a bit on the upper end of the payout scale. A portable DVD player or small-screen HDTV.by Randy - General Discussion
Robby Harris makes a good suggestion. Using an "Early Bird" special price or extra goodies with a deadline is a good incentive. Or, adding $5 to the cost of registering on the day of event would encourage me to pre-register. For example, the Tishomingo Fall Classic limited player's packs to the first 50 paid entries. For consideration, I'd like to throw out the idea of a mixed-doubles division. I recognize that the division/fees/payout will become an issue for discussion and I certainly don't want to start a firestorm. My purpose for suggesting it is more for the fellowship enjoyed in one I played in a couple of years ago. Although the Doubles Championship is a long way off, discussing it now would giveby Randy - General Discussion

Dillon, he said "just about everyone." Tying for third out of 21 players is beating "just about everyone," including me! But alas, I want to be the first to step up and defend Dillon. You good folks couldn't be more wrong about him. Dillon's not scared of getting beat by a girl...HE'S GOTTEN USED TO IT!by Randy - General Discussion

I couldn't find a clear-cut answer, so I post this scenerio for feedback. Mandy (15-year old daughter) and I want to team up and play in the Mississippi State Doubles Championship. I usually play Am Men division, Mandy has cashed in Pro Women several times. Question: Knowing I can't play as her partner in the Pro Women or Juniors divisions, can Mandy play as my partner in the Am Men'sby Randy - General Discussion

A true pleasure meeting Lance. I visited the course several times prior to the Classic and Lance was on the course every time, working away! Great job, brother! Thanks for the extra effort to make the course safe for all players over the weekend. For those who don't know, Lance spent his Saturday tournament rounds WORKING on Tushka Run. I can't reveal my source, but I've learned what's in the MYSTERY BOX. It really is a WOW AND A HALF!! Whoever walks away with the MYSTERY BOX will be one happy camper. Good post Shawn. Technology offers many online meeting service options. BOD members can conduct a meeting live online and make it available to any SN member who wishes to attend. I think service settings might allow only BOD to engage in dialogue, while "guests" can listen only, but submit typed questions and comments on a message board. I observe one of the reasons the Am has a larger payout is simple mathematics. The number of Amateurs entering a local event is nearly always larger than the Professional fielding at any given tournament. Because more is paid into the Am series during the regular season, more is paid out at SNAC. The conflict lies in the fact that, proportionally, fewer Ams play in their own championship thaby Randy - General Discussion
Got 10 benches (18"wide x 60" long) coming soon. They are 90% complete. The Eagle Scout I'm working with is scheduling a work day to put them in the ground. This weekend, I cut out 15 "Next Tee" signs. They are arrowhead shaped like the ones I've seen on the Chickasaw Trails course. Still need to route the letters and paint them. I will try to bring a sample tee postby Randy - General Discussion
