This had nothing to do with MDWF&P. This directive comes from The Department of Revenue. This has always been in place but we were unaware and have not been enforcing it but now we will be required to. Dustin, we will continue to offer disc golf to our over 100,000 visitors that come to the park annually. Clayton, I can scan what they sent me to Donna at Tombigbee and you can read it. There is a contact number you can call to get clarification but the way I interpret it if anything is sold on state property by a vendor the state sales tax has to be collected and turned in to the Department of Revenue. Zach, That is correct! We received the news from the Department of Revenue before our events a couple of weeks ago. If there is anything sold within the park by a vendor. They are required to pay the $35.00 vendor fee to the park (MDWF&P Rules & Regulations). In addition, they have to pay the park or the sponsor of the event (TDGA, Friends of Group, etc.) the 7% sales tax and they arby bubbab - SN Tournament Information

Michael, Make sure you get with Donna at the park so she can tell you about the new requirements for vendors to sell anything on the park (food, disc golf accessories, etc.). Not only is there a vendor fee ($35.00). Each vendor has to fill out a form and pay either the event organizer or park the 7% sales tax they collected on their gross sales who in turn have to set up a meeting with the Depby bubbab - SN Tournament Information

I want to thank Jack, James, and Bill for all the hard work they have put in on redesign of Warrior Ridge and other course maintenance. You guys are the best! It appears we may have our first semi-dry tournament in a long, long time. Sean, The entry fee has nothing to do with your Annual Pass. It is a Tournament Entry Fee that must be collected from all players. The so-called confusing flyer seems pretty straightforward from where I sit. The first 25 players (Pro or Amateurs) that pre-register get an event t-shirt. Flick, I for one have had enough of your negative attitude. The Ice Bowl is a charity event and this tournament has always been or should be a "feel good" event to help a local charity. The "used and unwanted discs" were requested by me to make sure we have enough discs for first time players in an attempt to help "grow the sport". Jack your hard work is appreciated! If anyone has any unfriendly or unwanted discs we are needing to restock our rental disc selection (a collection box will be available at the tourney). We have introduced alot of people to the sport via these rental discs. It would be nice if we could think of "The Charity" and not "Me, Me, Me" at one Disc Golf Tournament during the year. These are charity events that attempt to raise as much money as possible to help out a local charity in the community which helps so many needy people. Not sure where you guys are but we've had plenty of rain as recent as yesterday which has not allowed Tushka Run to dry enough to provide decent footing. The county delivered some wood chips today which we will be putting out on the course so hopefully we can play Tushka Run during the Ice Bowl in January. Tushka Run #2 is pretty soggy. I doubt even without any additional rainfall it would be playable. Plans are to continue trimming just in case. Kudos to Jack White for working on the courses the past couple of weekends and to Bill McCarty for hitting the streets in search of additional sponsors. You guys are the BEST! No problem with the levy. The sink holes are in the lake bed. Next time you are at Tish. I'll give you the geology lesson. Only after a series of frequent rains do holes #1 & #2 stay wet. We hope to have some improvements made so we can play them unless we have a lot of rain prior to the tournmament. Already have three players staying in the Group Cabins. Getting a little practice time in! It looks like the stormy weather will pass through and clear up for the tournament. Mac, you still can't get over the $3.00 State Park tournament entry fee. Currently we waive everyone participating into the park at no charge to the reservations table to pay a one-time tournament entry fee; however, by todays policy each vehicle would be charged $5.00 (Special Events Entry) per day for each vehicle to enter. Big Thanks to Jack White and Bill McCarty for working on Chickasaw Trail and Warrior Ridge today to get them ready for the Spring Tourney. They bleached tee pads, moved pin placements, and did some trimming. Tomorrow they have plans to replace some carpet on some of the pads. I had the Natchez Trace Parkway put off the prescribed burn until after the tournament. It would of have been very black on Warrior Ridge and Tushka Run. Who all is coming?
